Can it handle a 4850 or 9800 gt?
I heard that the 4850 needs 18a on 12v but since I have 2 12v rails is that ok?
Also the terms probably sound a bit weird, I'm not too familiar with talking about power requirements
Edit: this is Hobo.

HAHAHAHA at the last line. I was totally in a 'WTF nerdchik' moment, for a second.
I actually posted that, realized it was her account, logged out, logged into mine and then told her what happened
She then logged out of my account, logged into hers, edited the post and logged out
For some reason she doesn't want people think she knows anything about computers?!

No. My nerdiness ends at owning 8 Star Wars t-shirts and having a lord of the rings tattoo.
So help would still be appreciated because if this computer melts down it's my money gone. <3

Because my power supply can handle a 4850, replacing the power supply adds another 60$ to the cost and getting an even better video card would mean that the processor has to be replaced and another gig of ram has to be added to prevent bottle necking

I don't really see how having 2x 12v rails that are rated at 16a would help? Not that I think the 4850 really requires 12v 18a...since it's a 6pin device.

Well my thinking was 1 rail at 16a wouldn't be enough but 2 at 16 should be enough to handle the 18a power requirement. But I wanted to double check
