I find this a much easier and less time consuming method to get pets I want than trading/saving to paint or trying to adopt, I've already got about 10 good names and some more not so good ones that I happen to like.
Purge wise, a not yet born pet is like a normal pet. Look up it's petpage to find it's owner than wait till the alphabet reaches the owner's username as per usual.

Previously, pets could be created and named, but not be actual pets yet. Like you would have to activate them for them to be able to be trained etc. Also, I think that they could remain in this unborn stage infinitely, therefore not being a real pet, but also taking up that name.What's a not born yet pet?

There's a lot of names that I'm stalking but when I read that most names are created 20 seconds after they're purged I lost all hope. I'm never on Neopets enough to be effective at this stalking thing.

Some people take neopets to a whole new level. ABing is one thing since it's easy, but these people are on like 24/7 stalking neopets just to get one silly pet name. Personally, I think it's a bit ridiculous.

I've been following the purge too much, but I've gotten some really great names from it so far. I just wish I could use one of them to get a custom on a pet I already made. xD Curse the rules!
