For malls, size definitely matters.

But if you are going on something like this, then it can be helpful.
Does shop size have anything to do with how quickly your shop shows up on the SW or is it completely random?
From what I've heard, it doesn't. The items get listed from cheaper to more expensive, and then in alphabetical order.

Here is how the wiz is sorted:
1. Every shop is busted into one of 13 categories (based on the first character of the username)
2. When a search is processed, the wiz will (presumably) pick one of the categories at random.
3. The results of the category are sorted by price, then by alphabetical order
In the case of two shop with the same first letter and the same price, the first alphabetical shop will be displayed first.

Ok thanks. Just wondered since I sometimes refresh SW more than 15 times before my item and price show up. Sucks.

Well, it all really depends how much stuff you have to sell. Size 50 doesn't seem that big, though.
The reasoning having a shop sized at 50 was so that no matter what way the SW presented lists, you would always be in the top three-ish. i remember that when my shop was around 15 or so and i had the lowest prices for sure, i'd never show up on the SW

I don't remember the SW ever working that way. JCRBoy has a good explanation of the way it works in his post in this thread. It could be that you were presented with the results from a different username group. I know for a fact that you can have a tiny shop and still be the number one hit if you're priced lowest. The reasoning having a shop sized at 50 was so that no matter what way the SW presented lists, you would always be in the top three-ish. i remember that when my shop was around 15 or so and i had the lowest prices for sure, i'd never show up on the SW

People with large shops are just compensating for something.
Haha. Great retort.
For the shop size, just remember that many people don't like browsing through a bunch of pages for one item. As for selling items, post constantly on the shop board. If no one buys within a few days, cut prices a bit until you see sales start to pick up.
I don't use the shop board. It seems like there's a new topic every minute so it seems like your thread would get bumped to page 2 really fast.

The only thing that sucks is pricing everything. Even with the autopricer things can take 30-40 minutes.

My shop may be small... but it's big in Japan.
That made me lol when I read that. Thanks for the laugh.

...lowering your prices beyond .96 also helps.

Just find the sweetspot size where your inventory levels maintain an equilibrium!
I find that inflating prices by '.88' seems to work best for me. At that point my items sell at about the speed I take them in.

Well, that IS how you control the prices of items in your shops. I would recommend learning how to use that feature.
