It would be good form to let someone who's left from the GFX team take the lead on this. If nobody steps up by about the 28th, then we'll need someone to organize the first one... we'll figure it out

I may just organize it myself at least on a preliminary basis until things settle in and we have some form of GFX team in place.

That sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe when the first trial runs are over and more people get involved it will be easier to set up a team to head this event. At any rate I'd say it's worth the shot just to see how creative the members here really are.

I would join if something official was created with rules/themes/etc.
Also I feel like entries should be anonymous/PMed b/c it might end up being a popularity contest otherwise.(and not promote legitly good graphics)

I 100% agree with this. Although you can kind of tell who created something if they have a certain style that they always use, it would be much fairer this way IMO.

Erm well idealy a GFX member would run the comp...but not many are active any more

If mods and others want I dont mind starting the competition off with the board etc?

As a non-participant, I'll go start this now.

Hopefully in the ensuing competition, we'll develop some people that wouldn't mind heading up such events

Would the leader of such an event have to provide the prize? Because I wouldn't mind leading something (I need something to do around here now that I don't need to stalk the boards lol) but I wouldn't be able to afford the prizes ever week.
