It could be that either Neopets won't let you login for a little while, or you're getting your login details wrong - probably the latter.

Started getting an error message when I tried to start up the Program Manager directing me to see the pre_loader.exe.log file. I checked the log file and it says:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "pre_loader.py", line 54, in <module>
File "urllib2.pyc", line 126, in urlopen
File "urllib2.pyc", line 400, in open
  File "urllib2.pyc", line 513, in http_response
File "urllib2.pyc", line 438, in error
  File "urllib2.pyc", line 372, in _call_chain
  File "urllib2.pyc", line 521, in http_error_default
urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found

Any idea what this means? :x

I've been having a problem opening the manager on my laptop. Could anyone help?

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "pre_loader.py", line 54, in <module>
File "urllib2.pyc", line 126, in urlopen
File "urllib2.pyc", line 394, in open
File "urllib2.pyc", line 412, in _open
File "urllib2.pyc", line 372, in _call_chain
File "urllib2.pyc", line 1199, in http_open
File "urllib2.pyc", line 1170, in do_open
File "httplib.pyc", line 1027, in getresponse
File "httplib.pyc", line 407, in begin
File "httplib.pyc", line 371, in _read_status
httplib.BadStatusLine: ''

Works fine on my desktop though; and they pretty much run the same programs OS wise. I generally do illegit stuff on the laptop, so having the problem here and not on the desktop is quite frustrating.

Oh, and I've tried restarting the computer, reinstalling, restarting then reinstalling... it's doesn't work. Couldn't find anything on the forums about it either. The manager's worked fine until now. I'm running Win7, if that matters. Thanks in advance, yeah. :)

Do you have any kind of proxy running on that system? Or anything else which might affect http requests?

I am kind of hoping that things like kad feeder comes back. I do so want to feed some kads but just can't seem to get the timings and stuff. Any chance of that happening?

Actually, yes. I have Hotspot Shield running perpetually on that laptop. I'm not quite sure if that's the problem though; I just went and did a test - the preloader still crashed when it was disabled. :/

Actually, it's really easy. Just make sure you do it when no one's online. Like midnight NST to about 5am NST on a weekday. The kads can stay unfed for tens of seconds at a time. ^.^

Well it would seem to be caused by something on your system affecting http requests somehow rather than on our end.

I can't sign in at all. I really want to try out the Advanced features so I can figure out if I want it long term or not.

This is the message I get when login fails:

We were unable to log you in properly, please send this data to one of the programmers (in the bug tracker)

Error
Yes it should be gibberish.

This is the error message from the log:

Exception in thread Thread-167:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyc", line 552, in __bootstrap_inner
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 693, in run
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 1048, in processNextTaskItem
File "wx\_core.pyc", line 14610, in __getattr__
PyDeadObjectError: The C++ part of the ProgramFrame object has been deleted, attribute access no longer allowed.

WTF is going on here?

I'm having the same problem and the same error code, so it's safe to assume it's probably a universal user issue. Hopefully, it'll be resolved soon.

The free advanced is -because- of these issues. Why would they remove it after the issues are resolved? I'm positive the admins will keep it after everything is sorted out.
