Any company would do it if customers asked for it (and they payed for it).

Also, a lot of people buy NP and pay for cheating sites subscriptions.
If it involved an improvement (as Scot told) I'm sure some people would pay for it.

Same. Not that I have anything worth a fuckton, but I'm not actually very invested into the game so I wouldn't pay for it myself. The main reason I even play is because it's a free time waster.

I seriously doubt I would play. It's entertaining, but not entertaining enough to pay for an account. I tried playing Club Penguin a long time ago when it first started, but it was stupid because you had to pay to get anything good.

I personally think that Viacom will eventually release some sort of option, whether it be an expensive item or an event or something, that will allow you to change certain pets back to UC. Because they're losing a lot of their
fanbase and I think bringing back UC pets would be a great way to bring people back.

I don't think that Neopets will ever be a 'pay only' site. They are playing both fields right now, making money off free users and paying users. If everyone needed to pay then they will definitely lose users, therefore there will be less page views and Neopets will lose a lot in terms of advertisement fees. I remember when I used to play, everything was FREE, NC was not introduced yet...

Even if Neopets is unavailable, there are more free ways to squander my life online.

Only reason I'd even consider paying for neopets is because once you give them money, you're more able to hold them accountable when they fuck up and close an account "for your protection." Among other things.

Once the service is no longer free, they chain themselves down to a much stricter service requirement. And, of course, open themselves up to lawsuits.

Agreed. Standardizing all their pets into one pose makes wearables possible, and I like some of the wearables options, but they really dumbed down a lot of the designs and made them chubby little cutesies that aren't nearly as fun to look at (the Jetsam is a perfect example of this). Also a lot of the paint jobs for the current art just look very, very lazy and not nearly worth the time or effort of getting the brushes.

I'd love to be able to revert pets. Neopets should realize by now that people aren't ever going to completely get rid of UC pets so they won't really ever be able to get rid of all the information for those pets that's sitting around on their serves.

Of course, doing that would also destroy the UC-selling market. The screaming would be audible from the stratosphere. XD

I don't even enjoy the game enough to play it without progs doing all my work for me... I enjoy making irl money by selling items but if I had to pay money to make money? Thats a no go.

I'd certainly quit... They already get enough money through their sponsors and their ridiculous "neocash"; anything more would be pure greed. And anyway, Neopets is so non-user loyal these days that I wouldn't even consider throwing any money their way.

wait what? hahaha. anyways, i only play neopets as a casual thing to spend the time. now if i really wanted to p2p, i would go back to wow, which some members already mentioned =)
