I'm assuming you tried plugging it into all the available USB drives?

Yeah, but even on the xbox i cant access the drive or format it. o-o

I'm thinking either the HD is DoA, or you just don't have the right drivers for it, but if even the Xbox can't read it, then something might be up, I tried quickly searching around, but I didn't really find any drivers for it.Yeah, but even on the xbox i cant access the drive or format it. o-o
Either that, or the Xbox just won't pick it up regardless.
