back in elementary school my friends and I thought that if we didn't feed our pets they would literally die, this led us to keep make sure to keep our neopoints low enough so that we would always have access to the soup kitchen.

When I was a complete newbie, I played guess the card a lot. I thought it would make my neopet really psychic so I would win chance things like scratchcards and dice a roo more. I was silly and probably still am to this day

I never had any of that shit when I was little. I just played Neopets and knew it wasn't a big deal to let them starve and stuff =)

I didnt figure this out until somebody pointed it out to me though and i was all like omg o.o

Not sure about myths but back in the day I won a Disco PB from the Fruit Machine and I put it into my user shop for 12k and was thinking that was too much. When I went back to it to lower the price it was sold. So young, so stupid

Anyone remember the ghost fiasco on the neoboards?
I don't remember the exact year but it was 4+ ago, but anyways we randomly gifted 'spooky' items and just posted on boards saying 'boo' and such. People freaked out and some claimed this was us warning them that they would be scammed or hacked the next day. One girl even claimed she had a panic attack over it and filed something with TNT.
In the end we all got frozen but I still have 200+ ghost marshmallows for gifting.

I have no myth myself that I believe in but this thread reminded me of the ghosting, so I wonder if anyone here remembers this?

Holy shit, that's awesome. TNT should have rewarded you for awesoming up the Neopets experience and actually implemented something like that. Obviously, it wouldn't signal that you were going to get hacked, but that some kind of special RE would happen the next day.

I used to think that petpet paint brushes could be used as many times as you wanted. So, when I landed a pink one in an RE, I was all, "Hells yeah I'm going to paint a zillion petpets and make a bazillion Neopoints". I was not so impressed when it disappeared after painting something crappy.

When I introduced my nephew to neopets he believed that his pet would die if it wasn't fed. I thought it would be a lot of fun to keep in touch with him long distance through neopets and we could play games together but apparently he freaked out too much about it and had too many meltdowns and so his parents told him his pet had in fact died and self iced his account. He was eight or nine.

Hahaha OMG. I used to think that the higher I lift the hammer, and click at just the right time, I would do better! Like, I have to click exactly on the centre or something. Hahaha. All my friends believed so too!

Haha back then i thought the pet would die if it wasn't fed... so my whole inventory was stocked with food. And they weren't cheap.. I bought different foods everyday cause I didnt want my pet to "get bored of the same food" ... :x It was pretty silly though.
