Tel-Aviv University demos quantum superconductors locked in a magnetic field (www.quantumlevitation.com). For an explanation of the physics behind this demonstration, visit www.quantumlevitation.com/levitation/The_physics.html.

With the theme "Knowledge that Works: From Theory to Practice," the 2011 ASTC Annual Conference featured more than 100 sessions, which highlighted how science centers and museums are putting new ideas to practical use to serve their communities. The conference was hosted by the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, October 15-18.

Totally read that as "levitation tax" and I thought

"they're taxing EVERYTHING! Even our levitation" then... yeah I'm sleep deprived

Japan are making the best train. Never stops. Passengers wait in a carrage that attaches to the train with magnets while the previous one attaches to the station to let people off.

He's stupid for not using gloves. ... Really is unprofessional Afew hundred negative f* is not something you play around with . Saw this video days ago super cool

If you avoid holding it for more than 1 or 2 seconds there's no danger to it. Same with liquid nitrogen, we had this little physics department exhibition, the demoer for the liquid nitrogen tank actually told us to stick our hands in but only for a short time. :p It just felt like cold water.
