Surely that's just enterprise? Controlling the market isn't a monopoly if they're all providing goods/services for a fixed amount.

With the amount of cheap independent businesses out there, it shouldn't be too hard to find a cheaper alternative.

I agree regulations are needed for businesses and banks. Especially essential services such as buses, trains, and private sector businesses funded by most people.

Is sitting on a pavement and resisting Arrest the best procedure though?

People complain about lack of job opportunities but according to sources over 70-80% of the protesters have job?!

Over 80% of the tents at Occupy London are empty at night! Some commitment? But I suppose writing racial/religious graffiti on churches make up for it.

But once again, a slightly meaningful protest has turned into police vs protesters. It's amazing how people are so easily swayed with their thought trail. Police brutality? Try this shit in Syria/Libya and complain then. Even German and Italian police are a lot stricter.

Just remember, striking is not a human right, and never has been.

(protests are a different kettle of fish)

Just my two cents.

For now, yes, it is simply enterprising. However, when companies start buying out smaller companies to eliminate competition, that's when they become a monopoly. Right now there are cheaper alternatives if a company wants to charge $15 for toothpaste, but they may all be bought out. And that's what (I believe) OWS wants to stop.

For your second part, I do agree with you. The way they are going about this isn't the best way, but until they get a central leader, they won't really accomplish anything. However, I see these, and similar protests gaining momentum here in the next few months. I fear that the summer of 2012 might be full of protests.
