Not sure how rare of an event this is but TNT have an auction up at the moment.

http://www.neopets.c...on_id=170771315

Its a Tombola Stamp, just out of curiosity how much is that actually worth?

They do this once a month to deflate the prices of really old stamps. How much it's worth, depends on how many collectors really want one.

It was worth around 20mil in 2005, and with inflation and everything, I'd say its worth around 400/500mil now

EDIT: I LIED LOL 100MILish

Surprising, considering there are only 5 bids so far and all of them are pretty low compared to some of the stamps that have been auctioned.

Why not? Bump it a little, every neopoint that leaves the economy is good. This stamp thing is just a sink anyway.

You have to realize that the auction has more than 24 hours left.

All the crazy high bids happen towards the end! (at least that's how I think it works)

Also, it wasn't actively posted on the front news page today. So I have no idea if that's a factor either *shrug*

Its not actually a sink really. The stamps that they choose to use are ones that are retired and then they go with those that are in lowest circulation because the rest have already been consumed in stamp albums, are being hoarded, are in a gallery or two, or they only exist on iced accounts. It makes sense why they cost as much as they do. These items are extremely rare and a collector needing that final piece would willing pay hundreds of millions to get it and finally have one piece down for their collection.

I am waiting for the Scary Tree Stamp to come back around and when it does I am gonna try for that... the last one they did sold for around 146mil (Reference: Stamp Collecting Guide)... I need about 75mil more than I currently have acquired simply to stand a chance getting the next one, but it is the last stamp I need for the avatar. So the degree in which I want it is severe enough that I would rapidly and full heartedly drop 200mil on it. The sink is only sinking one Neopian and not thousands... imagine the chaos that would ensue if they did something crazy like...

"For this weekend only buy Super Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, Moehog Skull, Scary Tree Stamp, Wock Till You Drop Stamp, Coltzan Stamp, and a working Glass (Changes pet color to Ice) Paint Brush in the Hidden Tower! Limited to one purchase per day per Neopian. Neopian's we catch using multiple accounts unbalances the game. Violators will be frozen."

They could set outrageous prices and people would buy up quickly and it would deflate the value of the neopoint DRAMATICALLY!

The stamp itself is about 100m post deflation.. The np sink is an extremely small one considering it's offset by the hundreds of millions of np poured into the economy each and every day from the easiest game (Kass Basher)

Went for 70mil, sold to a user for 90mil.

Market price for Tombola has been around 75-100mil, so nobody really got a bargain that much, compared to past stamps.
