Don't believe me, read these links. These are the stepping stones.

Here.
Here.
and
Here.

We should all see at least a few of these possibilities in our lifetime, especially if moore's law keeps holding up(In a nutshell says our computing power doubles every 2 years. So its growing exponentially).

We have had the basics of particle actions for around 100 years, in that time, look at all the technology we have derived from it. TVs, Cellphones, Computers, etc etc. With new theories and understandings our future is going to be pretty exciting. And thats just with technology. The break troughs is nano-tech, bio engineering, and other related fields are paving the way for lab grown organs(We grew a lung. Source.), man made white-blood cell like robots, regeneration, gene and DNA altering to remove aging, etc, etc, etc.

Ever watch Battlestar Galactica? Not very old, but if you watch it now some of the technology in the show is WAY underwhelming. I think that's because fact can be crazier than fiction, and even as imaginative as us humans can be, we still have no idea what the future could bring. The possibilities give me a braingasm.

Btw, if my fanclub could stay off this topic? kthanks.

I swear I've seen this video here before? I tried searching and couldn't find it. Anyways, I DID stumble across this from 2008: xkdc comic about quantum teleportation. :p I laughed.

I would imagine the phrase is idiomatic. My guess it that it means something like "Are you trying to make your life difficult?".

I figured it was probably something like that, or a dig at the size of his ego, but I like unusual sayings.

I would very much like it if quantum computing could become a reality in my lifetime. Would love be sitting at a computer writing programs for a quantum computer one day...

You guys are like hannah montana fans.

Btw, Discussing the applications of superconductors is the same as Levitation hax, I forgot.

Wonder who would make the first OS.

I'm pretty sure we already have hovercrafts. :p

There were a couple other terms I was going to put inplace of hovercraft, but they wouldn't be as well understood.

xD Is that what online translators think of it? That's hilarious cX

The phrase in English would roughly mean, "Did you hit your head too hard when you were born?"
(你出生 does mean "[when] you [were] born" though, which is probably why it was translated into English with that section in the beginning)

That is brilliant. I have visions of babies bursting out of vaginas and thwacking against hospital walls now. (Don't worry, everyone, the imaginary babies are fine). It google-translated as "You were born to make your head too hard?".

Did you legitimately just compare yourself to Hawking for posting a popsci thread?
I'm embarrassed for you.

Its not comparing yourself when your actually the person.
Notice how long it takes for me to type, its cause im using my face.

Wait, you were reaching. Ha. I did buy into that for a second. Funny, posting a picture in a joke isn't much like comparing intellectual levels. Infact, I was more comparing our skill at landing girls. But someone like you must reach a lot, so its hard to deduce when you are and when you are not.

Despite my plea, my FCs insatiable apatite for context distorting has prevented us from having an engaging conversation about the future of human technology. All parties lost in this situation. Sad day.\\

But at least we got some below average wise cracks from the forums resident *insert title of your choice. All smart people can read your personality type for what it really is so I don't have to explain it.

Edit: maybe ill try again later.

Give your fan club even an ounce of attention, and they're on you like flies on shit.

I think I know Sweeney's personality type. I believe it is "INTJ", using the Myers-Briggs typology. Same type as me.

LOL
If you wanted to say that in Chinese it'd be something like, "你生活是需要讓你的頭太硬?"
(Your existence/point in life is to make your head too hard?)

Fan club should definitely have been in irony quotes :p And I don't agree with "flies", although "shit" is fair enough.
I'm sure I've taken the Myers-Briggs test at somepoint, but I can't remember my result... Never found it terribly interesting to be honest ^^

We were promised flying cars and jetpacks and food that comes in a pill years ago. To me it seems like it will forever just be a "Its coming soon!" thing.
