In the mean time I bet legit restockers are wondering why they're suddenly having much more success

Unfortunately, I will be gone all of this weekend. But.... Hydrogen and Pyro, I suspect, will be working on getting the new host set up. I just won't be able to help them.
But, there's not much left to do. Database migration, setting up django, and getting the forum packaged up seems to be all that is left. I don't want to promise anything, but a solid stretch of work put in should be enough to get things set up.
Sorry again for this outrageous downtime. Let's all suffer together, and then we can reminisce about it once we are on a much better server.

I hope we will get all our advanced time back when the manager will be back up ...
I think the admins have already shown that they're willing to be quite generous with compensating people because of this downtime (which is actually all Dreamhost's fault because they're completely inept. As you can tell, we don't recommend buying hosting from Dreamhost. ).

Are these low load/downtimes are happening to everyone who uses Dreamhost? If so, you'd think they would have done something by now to fix it.......

I bet they just took all the machines that were on the server that failed and slapped them onto another one (that already had its own load of machines on it) so that they would be "up" - so it's probably not only affecting those on the original server, but those on the new one too.
I wonder if they will even bother to replace the failed hardware or if they're just gonna say "fuck it, we could stand to lose a few customers." I have known datacenters to do this so it's not outside the realm of possibility. If they have trouble keeping up with support tickets as it is now, they're probably seeing this as a good opportunity to let go of some of the load.
Fucking bottom suckers... what has the digital world come to

A lot of their hardware seems to have been failing recently so they've had to replace a lot of them judging from their status blog posts. I'm not sure what all the lag is about though, they have been DDoSed recently but they said that was sorted out so I have no idea what's going on there.
