I've noticed that TNT has been slowly introducing the idea of plot-like events to us. Correct me if I'm wrong since I'm typing all of this from memory:

1. We had the Faerie Festival (event) turn into a plot.
2. The disappearance of Krawk Island. There were plot-ish features to this event, such as the total disappearance of KI. We also had different parts to this event - the puzzle portion, and the adventure portion (searching for the islets).
3. Even the Daily Dare had a plot-ish story line integrated in it. However, I'm not too sure about the details because I didn't bother taking part in it since it required NC. :(
4. The current event: Festival of Neggs! The integration of plots into events is getting more obvious with this event. Like the Faerie Festival, it started off as any other FoN, then they introduced the CW negg through the few journal articles. After that, we have our puzzle portion and it looks as though there's even going to be a battle portion in this one (someone posted spoiler images relating to the mysterious negg on the neoboards).

Also, I've noticed that we have quite a few events a year. Say each event lasts a month or so, then there's always that short break in between events before the next. It seems as though there isn't much time in between to fit in a decent plot. Again, correct me if I'm wrong but I think plots usually last for about 2-3 months.

I have a feeling that the AC will have that similar plot-like portion. Maybe the kidnapping/disappearance of the Darigan Yooyu (noob YYB players like me rejoice!!!), then a hunt for the missing yooyu, a puzzle to crack a combination to unlock the cage/cell where the missing yooyu is held captive, a battle portion to battle the villain who stole the yooyu, ultimately leading to the revamping of the Altador map.

Then again, I could just be reading too much into things. TNT may just have been doing all that in an attempt to revamp all the outdated maps in Neopia.

So what are your thoughts? Is this possibly the end of plots as we know them?

I apologise for the horrible flow of thoughts and structuring of sentences. I have very disorganised thoughts. It's a good thing that I don't have to write essays in exams.

I think you may be reading too much into it xD

But yeah...i dont remember the last REAL plot neo did.

'm hoping they will do something that involves the battledome. I've been training my pets hoping that they will.
Buuut..it may just be for the maps like you said.

i feel that faerie's ruin is a plot.
the rest are just events, you dont get a trophy for the others.

I am still glad that they are injecting fun into introducing those changes rather then "you should notice krawk island got an update today"

Faerie Ruins was a pretty big plot, no? It wasn't great, but it was like... events, wars, items and shit. I think that counts as one, definitely.

I have my fingers crossed for another in-depth plot. Seeing as I took a hiatus from Neo for a number of years, I missed out on a LOT of plot trophies I could have otherwise snagged :/

Yeah, I said that TFR was a plot, just that it started out as an event. I don't think plots in the past started out as events. TNT just introduced some changes around Neopia, and then released plot chapters. TFR was when I think they first mixed plot and event together.

I really hope there's another war, along with the plot. That'll make things more fun.

I hope there will be another plot like the Neovia one. I still miss the little tasks you could do.

I remember leaving something on my f5 key just so I could get a grave to clean or w/e you did. lol

When was that? I don't think I was around for that one. I don't even know what Neovia is XD

I don't remember. I think it was between the Lost Desert one (which was also fun) and the Shenkuu one.

This could be the end for fun plots. So far, its been a disappointing series of small events. Nevertheless, its better than nothing.

I'd rather have nothing because I hate all the notifications that I find when just browsing NP.

I think you're on to something here...

But as long as TNT releases avatars periodically to appease the AC, nothing will change.

A lot of people complained about the wars though.. They think only seasoned Bders get the fun. That's why there has been no wars ever since.

Yes well, it's certainly better than what we're getting now :c

Since TNT had to put some thought into making plot/war storylines and characters etc.. But now they just throw rehashed month-long events all the time with little originality and thought put into them >.< (Excluding map redraw events) And really, even though I'm not a BDer, I'd much prefer to see something with a bit of storyline and action rather than "lol u did this last year and the before, now u can do it again!"...

I do miss the big plots Neopets used to have. It really brought the community together. That being said, however, it definitely is interesting that TNT is now focusing on smaller "plots" and giving us more of them. Though I can't say I prefer it this way. The bigger plots got me more involved and I felt like I was on more of a mission than I am when doing these smaller events.

The one thing I remember about plots was that i was never really around for them. :( However they always seem to follow the unveiling or revamping of an area. With that being said I still think tyrannia really needs updating

I've never done any plots, I always seem to come back from a break just as they're wrapping up. If you ask me, that Faerieland one should of never happened, place looks nasty now.
also, is it bad that this is the first thing I thought of?...

I am much more under the impression that TFR was the first decent plot since the last Maraquan war... all these mini-plots have been mildly entertaining but the TFR plot was the first one that really pulled me back into Neopets, that had me reading the boards and helping with solutions to puzzles. I loved it, it reminded me of the olds war plots the way everyone came together and how everything across Neopia was changing.
