I've had this handy script for quite a while, and only recently noticed Neoquest's book buyer. Anyways, this script works just fine in FireFox, but I've never tested it in Chrome or IE.

If you don't know what iMacro is, it's an addon that allows automation of your browser. Personally, I love using macros for less-intensive tasks, and a great bonus is that macros offer your account a bit more of 'realism' when compared to a program, like Abrosia. Just thought I'd share the script in case there's any one else out there with similar tastes as me ;)

Spoiler

This macro uses the list generated by Jellyneo's book checklist, and starts buying books from the top of the list (cheapest) and works its way down. I also do have a book-reading script if anyone is interested :)

Enjoy!

The only real downers to this script is that you would have to update Jellyneo's book checklist with an updated list of read books if:
- the script times out
- you've finished buying X amount of books and decide to read them (even if you don't decide to read them, you should still read them & update the list before starting up the script again, otherwise you'll end up buying the same books)

Let me just list some reasons for using a program again:
  • Gives you greater control over the finer details,
  • Can be used very easily fixed without having to look at a process - it simply tells you whatever is wrong through a stack trace,
  • Is able to be used on, at least, the OS it's been developed on - typically it's portability extends further than that though,
  • Can (but isn't that likely to) be built up to develop another framework, package or even language,
  • Even the slower languages run faster than anything in a browser.

Nice effort anyway. If you really want to tune it up, you can go into your iMacros directory, pull the script and it's directly downloadable from there.
