Hi, so I was wondering if we could be frozen for refreshing the same page over and over again (and I'm not talking about shop pages).

MY EXAMPLE:
I am currently refreshing pages to encounter certain characters within the Battledome. I am refreshing and passing a possible 500 pages a minute using multiple tabs.

QUESTION:
Will this kind of activity get an account frozen (and remember I'm not doing this in shops)?

Refreshing multiple tabs at the same time is against their rules.

Anything that looks possibly illegit is grounds for freezing. This does include refreshing via a rock on the F5 button. I'm liable to think that you will be frozen, because no one can manually refresh that quickly.

I think there was a question about that a few weeks ago in the Editorial.

I once read a post on the Neoboards about someone who got frozen for using an auto-refresher. They said that they were simply using the F5 trick in Chrome, and that it may have possibly triggered a flag somewhere because Chrome refreshed faster than Firefox.

On the other hand, I've done refreshing with extensions like ReloadEvery with randomized times of a few seconds for hours on end, and it's not caused me any trouble. So if I had to speculate, I would say the speed of refreshing might get you frozen, but using a script with reasonable times probably won't.

It is very hard to figure out what gets you frozen in Neopets. This is mainly because TNT doesn't update their rules and only posts new ones (or updated ones) in the editorial every now and then.

The problem is - not everyone reads the editorial.

To be on the safe side, however, just refresh every few seconds and do it only for about an hour. Take a break in between and start again the hour after or something. Do not make it too obvious you are using an auto-refresher or what so ever.

From Editorial #521

People seem to be taking what was said in Editorial 446 (and any other Editorial that may be similar to it) as an okay to go ahead and refresh any page on the site just for the sake of refreshing in order to get Random Events. While I doubt that was actually your intention, would you mind clarifying again whether or not refreshing just to get Random Events that have nothing to do with avatars or Battledome challengers is allowed? ~esomera

You're welcome to refresh the site where and however often you like, as long as YOU are PHYSICALLY doing the refreshing without the aid of your cat/mug/water bottle/robot butler sitting on the F5 key. So, if you want to sit at your computer pressing f5 for 6 hours straight, that's acceptable, though we wouldn't advise it for your own well-being. (Also, to clarify, using any "refresh all" browser functions and the like are also off limits. Again, you must refresh each page yourself or we consider it using an outside force to aid you.)

Junsu saving the day again.
