To be fair, London only spent a fraction of what Beijing spent.

Nobody else could really afford to spend what China did given how the world economy has changed since 2008. I think London ended up spending less than half what the Beijing opening ceremony cost but I think it ended up better than less than half as good so they did a good job. :p

I'm going to go with Phelps over Lotche. Being an Olympic athlete and hitting a bong just sends a message to people that shows marijuana in a better light.

Except he's a cunt.
I hope he jumps in and drowns.

Now, I know the events already happened, but they won't air for us until later tonight, so if you are going to talk about results, please put them in a spoiler tag. Thank you!

I think it's nice how it's their national flower and they have the colours of the flag but seriously...

Let's not forget about the McDonald's workers.

The channels are calling this the XXX Summer Olympics. Every time I see that I think I've stumbled upon porn.

These people interviewing the athletes right after they compete really get on my nerves. This stupid bitch from NBC asked Phelps "How does it feel not to place? What does this mean?" and the guy is just saying "I don't know I don't know" and gasping for breath. Leave the dude alone, geez.

I hate the Olympics. It means working 15 days straight with little or no sleep.

I appreciate it will probably provide us with an extra £4billion in economy but I'd rather have 5 hours sleep instead of 2/3.

NBC is "censoring". They took out the tribute to the 7/7 victims and replaced it with an interview with Phelps.

I dunno about that. The transitions between the acts and the acts themselves felt very clunky.

The worst thing about the Olympics is Boris Johnson on the tube every morning, telling me not to get caught out and to get ahead of the games. It's sinister.

I dislike the getup that the beach volleyballers are wearing. Tiny underwear that have the players asses hanging out and are always always giving the players wedgies. You see them picking their underwear out of their butts so often. But for some reason, they have long sleeves tops that don't expose anything. I thought the underwear was an Olympic requirement, but Team Australia wore long tights so I guess it isn't.

I agree. The olympics should be done nude like they were in 200 BC.

Apparently, this is important because people are going nuts over it.

Ryan Lochte's grill. You can see the flag better in the second picture.

Personally, I don't like it, especially since it looks like his mouth is riddled by tooth decay with all those black spots in the first pic. If he likes it and wants the pictures and memories to be remembered like that, then why not.

I actually said that to someone yesterday :D The stations can put little black censor bars over the naughty bits if they must :p

Did you see the Women's beach volleyball match against USA. Their opponents made my eyes pop out of my socket.

As much as I also dislike Phelps, I cannot bring myself to support someone who claims to represent the USA while having the catchphrase "Jeah".

I have enjoyed watching swimming, diving, gymnastics, and even caught myself watching beach volleyball. I think the Olympics are the only sports I enjoy watching.

Speaking of gymnasts falling on their asses, I felt so bad for that one guy from USA who fell. I think he was crying. :/

The funniest thing for me was a brazilian gymnast blaming her brother(who's also an olympic gymnast) for her epic failure. She said that him falling made her fall too or something..Either she's pathetic or they've got some weird sibling connection I do not know about haha

That's a grill? I thought he had braces. What a dumbfuck. Holy crap I hate the Americans so much sometimes.

This is something I love. The agony of defeat for the athletes when they fail. It's horrible, but their anguish gives me life. A part of me pities Jordyn Weiber for her heartbreaking elimination Sunday night, but a bigger part of me relished her disapointment.

Women's beach volleyball is vulgar. The two on the US team are so fucking disgusting. Their dry, sun damaged lipless mouths are the things of nightmares. Apparently it used to be a regulation that the women wear bikinis, but they've since changed that rule. It's cold in London, so that's why they're wearing long sleeves, but fuck. Put on some goddamn pants, no one wants to see your 35 year old pussy hanging out.

So... how about Japan getting that silver medal yesterday? bwahahahahahaha
