Seeing as I work 10 hours a day, and there's 24 hours in a day, the max it would be for me is around 14 hours because the Navy does everything short of making a search party when you don't show up for work :p

I feel like people are becoming more disconnected from one another, you say hello to someone, you talk to them, you hug, laugh, and you part ways with them. You talk to them on phone, text, and email but you never really spend time with them. Sometimes it feel the time you spend with people never happen. She might have died from loneliness.

even if i am an absolute loner, probably 1-2 months. the humidity, temperature, the fact that we are all squeezed terribly near with each other in singapore makes it quite hard not to notice the smell.

there were plenty of reports of dead people that were undiscovered till a month later, when the stench is absolutely horrible.

I would be discovered very quickly because I live with part of my family. So, there's nothing interesting to say here.

I don't think people dying alone and undiscovered ever warrants a laughing emoticon.

If I died, I bet people would know

The better question is whether people would care

At least I could feed a few animals while I die.

No one other than my parents would care. I'd probably be found within minutes to hours depending on where my mom is at the time.

Psh, don't go getting all depressive on us.
I'd go into mourning and wear a black cape for at least 6 months.

But my faux depression is one of the most endearing things about me!

Yes I would. I'd ask you to donate some of your beard to be part of the fur trim.

It's been a couple days, it's probably grown completely back by now.

I've chosen for the second best option, not leaving my house. Which takes me to the OP, I'm guessing it would take one or two hours.

something similar happened in the complex I used to live a couple years ago...

there was this old lady who had like 5 dogs and lived by herself despite her old age. she would walk her dogs every day and her daughter would come every sunday to take her to church.
one day she fell in the bathroom, broke a leg and couldn't stand up (of course). her daughter came on sunday, as usual, but didn't bother when her mother didn't show up to go to church, neither on the following sunday. it seemed that nobody cared that the old lady wasn't walking her dogs anymore either.

after 3 weeks the building's janitor thought that something could be going on and broke her apartment's door to find her and her 5 dogs dead from starvation... imagine that

What a nice daughter, looks like all she cared about was going to church and possibly making sure her mother went to Heaven. Where the Hell did she think her mother had gone? Reminds me of these people who only call to invite me to church, but at least they're not relatives.

Even if she did, I have no doubt her mom wouldn't have been able to reach it, having slipped in the toilet and all.

yeah but if she tried to call her during these 3 weeks and had no answer she should have tried to break into her apartment before

NOPENOPENOPENOPE

It would probably take me at most a day to be discovered had I passed. I don't really walk in shifty places, and live with my family (they're home most of the time I am, which is a good and bad thing :p). I just can't imagine being that lonely that everyone would forget about you.

What the fuck kind of thread is this?!

This is people realizing that they don't have enough real life friends that if the were to die and rot in their apartment, that no one would come until the smell of cavidarscene and putriscene was strong enough to disturb the neighbours.

There was an elderly couple of ladies that died a few years ago in Carroll County, going to the outlet mall in Carrollton. Their car went off the interstate, down the hill, and it wasn't until almost a year that their car and coyote munched bones were discovered.
No morel, but I likely had walked within a couple of hundred yards of that site, and saw nothing.

Also close to the famous Carrollton Bus crash.
