I work as a healthcare provider in the health field but I've been doing computer/website programming and design since I was 11yo, so to me, anything computer related pretty much just comes natural because during then, to me, programming/design was like ''playing games''. Now, it's different.

I'm 20+ and with a career in a totally different field and I've recently just taken in a project ''job'' to create a website for old time's sake. I know it's easy, but I'm finding it a challenge everyday to start working on it due to so many computer related things that I normally just do nowadays to relax (like play games like NP) after coming home from work.

How do you get yourself to start working on your computer related job? When it's so easy to get sidetracked. Ie: look, I just created this topic on this forum when I'm suppose to be working on it now lol.

I run a completely internet based business from my laptop, so I know that feeling.
If you really can't focus, get the StayFocus plugin and block the websites you look at too much.

Use one computer for work (and set it up appropriately) and another for everything else.

I second this. Take it a bit further and use one physical space for work and another for relaxation.

Block the sites you visit most. It's what I do when I need to do a project.

I work as photographer... Half my work is on my laptop, half is off... For me, I pretty much put my editing program in full screen mode and just work till I'm done. The computer can be distracting though... :o

Lazy or genius.  I'm not sure which one to go with for that.
