I've just been using it for the price checking option, I had no idea this site was primarily used for cheating purposes. I feel like a complete dumbass. I've never cheated once since I started playing again two years ago and was instantly frozen after I sent a message to a friend advising her to use the price check feature.

 

I've opened a ticket but doubt they'll be too sympathetic (or responsive).

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? And yes, I know I'm a complete dolt...haha.

You're not the dolt... you were simply a Neopets player who wanted some information about your items. You don't even need to make an account here to see the item prices, so it's just wrong to freeze people for cheating, if that was their lame excuse.

 

(With that said, they'll freeze you for mentioning any off-site pages other than their "approved" fan pages I think. )

Might be time to go ahead and commence with AB.

Thanks so much for the information, everyone. I had no idea I would be frozen just for mentioning the name of a site, and I don't even think I've restocked once on this account (my computer isn't fast enough to attempt it).

 

Hopefully they read the tickets and realize I'm not a cheater, just kind of oblivious. I imagine they should be able to check my game/restock records, right?

Welcome to Codex. Once you get ABing down, you'll have considerably more NP then you had on your old main.

Although for 'other' sites (that aren't involved in the cheating scene) they generally only issue warnings/silencing for those I think. Just because Codex is associated with the cheating scene (and not acknowledged for our legit resources) the bots are programmed to insta-ban anyone who mentions our site name or tries to direct people here. :'(

If your computer/ internet is slow you may have trouble ABing as well.

 

Unfortunately there's no real way for them to determine that you aren't using programs or anything else from this site, and so just mentioning the site makes them assume you are associated with a recognised cheating site. There's little to no hope of you getting it back, sorry amigo.

If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one who got frozen for mentioning Codex. Someone mentioned them on the NC board when non-US people asked how to get NC cards (cause codex sells them) and she was frozen. Someone else used the IDB as a price checker and got frozen as well.

 

Welcome though; Neo is a lot more fun with cheating. ^^

AB, I find it's way more fun And then it gives you capital that you can use to make more NP in legitimate ways whist you AB or if you want to stop. Money makes money...

Oh, and please read up on the various tutorials on how to use them programs. You don't want to get frozen just because you left AB on through the night

Yeah, make sure you aren't starting it on anything relatively new. I didn't start using programs until after maybe 3 months of legit restocking, mostly out of purity. Now I do it to spite TNT.

That's why I plan on doing it also. I've never cheated at anything in the game in my life, not even when I played as a kid. It really pisses me off that I'm probably going to be perma-frozen just for saying one word.

Yeah, apparently being a neocodex memeber (or even mentioning it) is a bannable offense to them.

I'm really glad I went ahead and became a member, though. Everyone I've talked to so far has been amazing - I was pretty sure when I made this board that people were going to be all "LOL IDIOT HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THIS SITE WAS GTFO," but people have been really kind and helpful!

 

I'll just have to remember never to mention anything about it when I'm actually on Neopets. x)

That's pretty much the main reason why I don't go on the boards anymore :V It's really easy to forget which sites allow swearing and which don't (or if you make a typo like dong instead of dog that happens a lot hehHh) and oh no if you accidentally say damn you're gonna be frozen ! ! ! !

 

TNT really need to learn how to take it easy!

In this situation I always figure it's probably best to feign ignorance and just say that you don't know what you've done. If they then tell you that you were frozen for saying 'neo codex' you can then say that you didn't realise it was against the rules and that you've never ever do it again (honest guv'nor).
