Apparently the dog who the spardel was based off of died, and he was named Sparky.

Haha I got it on a random event, thought it seemed pretty innocuous till I saw the name of the petpet. And then i saw the description.

That'll be because you get it when you visit the first page of the Shrine, his daily doer must just send the data without visiting that page fully.

This made me really sad... I know how it feels when your beloved dog dies... Sparkle's price surely will go DOWWWWN after today (too bad I had 2 of them from months ago, should've sold them before!)

Is it randomized? Or do people get the same prizes on good days?

It was a one-off event for that day, not randomised - everyone who visited on that day received it, and everyone got the same prize.

 

I don't remember them ever doing such a thing before. In fact, I'm not sure they HAVE ever done something like this before xD
