In your opinion, between useless food items, and useless weapons, as far as r101 items go, which ones tend to be better investments?

I'd say food items out of the two, but I wouldn't recommend either. At least with food, there's more of a chance of eating it accidentally, therefore decreasing the number of a available supply.

I just had some stamps inflating from 60k (last time I checked in 2012) to current price of about 200k thanks to that faerieland avatar.

If they are retired, wait. If they are still for sale in main shops, sell. Or course you could always hedge and sell half now, and hold off on the other half.

@Silver Which items from desert diplomacy do you think will inflate? I got some of the scrolls, but only in little amounts. It's been almost a decade, and many haven't retired.

I'm not sure tbh, I've been out of the game for a bit. Although this is exactly why I recommend diversification among your items; some will skyrocket, most will not.
