That makes no sense.

He think he's referring to PVP in WoW. There's probably someone camping his dk (death knight) and he's mad. I just don't see how it's relevant to this topic.

Ugh I read that as something totally different but makes more sense than PVP in WoW.

Legitimate question: what if I wanted to apply but can really only commit in december? Cause school ends in december and november has my final exams for the year.

We should have a next step beyond the application where those that applied that are being seriously considered are given a public forum platform where they can be asked serious questions on neo and Codex related issues.

How would you solve the UC trading issues since the deflation of Krawks and Draiks by TNT?

Should Drakonid shave his back?

What impact on Spooky Food deflation is going to come into play in the coming months?

Should Kate be given daily back rubs?

Important stuff.

Neopets is for dorks.

Shaving is for dorks.

Inflation is for dorks.

Backrubs are for dorks.

Vote Quimby Elindoril.

Part of any new moderator's duties will be to increase activity exponentially.

I can see things are quite the same.

but i thought moderating was just.... moderating? cleaning up shitposts and banning people who are breaking the rules
??
its so weird hearing that part of the job is to try increasing activity too

You would think so. But content is the only thing that drives forums, so activity is sort of a must.

The trap that many (ex-)moderators fell into is withdrawing from the community activities. I stopped having time for neopets because I was "moderating" (i.e. reading spurious reports, and refreshing view new content). The very tasks you mention become droll and mundane if you're the only one doing them (as the staff no doubt feels :p) so it's natural for them to seek fresh blood to invigorate the boards and instigate change.

The thing I would emphasize to those applying is to really think about whether you can commit a few extra hours to the affairs of Codex each week, whether that be moderating or generating ideas, or whatever. If you can't make that commitment for at least a period of a few months, why should anyone bother with training you in the use of moderator authority?

Strat trained me on the fun stuff like warning points and bans. The rest is in the Moderator Manual :)
