@Ahayde @heytherepikachu She didn't do it on purpose, but out of INCOMPETENCE.

 

Long story short, I asked her not to use poison to kill our rats, but she did and left it out, unprotected, and my dog ATE IT and had to have her stomach pumped. We were lucky she survived. 

 

Short story Long:

As an environmental science major I detest using poisons to kill vermin (rats etc) because when they eat it they become poison, and then raptors (hawks, owls, eagles, vultures) eat them and THEN GET SICK AND DIE. Also at risk: children that find poisoned animals and play with them (or touch them to bury them, handle them at all): they can get sick. People's family DOGS when the animal dies in their yard: they can get sick, they can die.

 

 

So I specifically told this woman I didn't want poison. And why. Can't resist a teaching moment (obviously). Well, her super LAYS OUT POISON IN MY YARD, WITHOUT THE PROTECTIVE BLACK CASING. And my dog ate one. Normally I put Rook out to pee as soon as I get home, and then pee myself. It's quite a drive from school. This day, for whatever reason, I went out too. She was MAGNETICALLY DRAWN to something, and started chowing down. I freaked, got a piece, Googled while calling my vet, and then rushed her to the hospital where they pumped her stomach, and told me to watch for signs of neurotoxic shock. Great. She never showed any. I did get Ms Moron to pay me the $840.00 for the episode. I scoured the yard for the rest of the poison blocks (of which there were FIVE MORE. Imagine if I hadn't gone out, and she'd eaten those five GD blocks of neurotoxin. It's a nightmare.

I'm so glad I dont have the type of job where I need someone to "cover" for me or needing to cover for someone else. I would be hated because I would say no all the time xD
