So I want to start using a proxy for my main (I only have one account). The reason why is because my boyfriend who I live with and share the same ip address plays neopets as well, We dont give eachother items or anything and signed up with different emails, and have sent eachother neomail here and there just so it doesnt look like its my side trying to make money. He cheats a lot and if he gets caught they will most likely chain ice us. I dont use much bots or anything. Only aob rarely.

My question is, will that look suspicious if I just started using a proxy? from TNTs perspective.

Also, if they freeze my boyfriend will I be frozen too even if I start using a proxy though I did have the same ip address as him?

Thanks! ^_^

There's the potential for it to look pretty suspicious because your accounts are already linked by IP and by shared communication so there's probably not much point using a proxy. You've even got the possibility that TNT might freeze your account for your own protection if you suddenly start showing up as being in a completely different country or something. :p The communication might go in your favour if he did get frozen though because you'd be able to make the argument that you're two different people and use that contact as evidence to support it.

People need to realize that there's nothing wrong having multiple accounts under the same IP, as long as you don't do something incredible stupid such as sending a score that's humanly impossible or ABing for 12 hours straight, to name a few.

Don't let bots do something that would be impossible for a human to do.

It depends what you're doing. Even restocking manually on two accounts on the same IP can get you frozen because it's against the rules to earn NP on more than one account which is why most people recommend keeping accounts entirely separated on individual IPs (by using proxies).

But TNT doesn't know how many people plays Neopets in every household. The main problem is to know how to transfer NP/item between the accounts without raising too many red flags, whether they're under the same IP or not.

I know that using different IP can give you more safety, but I honestly believe that won't help if you still do stupid things.

That's never stopped them from just icing every account. :p Usually they freeze first and ask questions later.

I just want to mention that a few years ago, when I played semi-legit (I used no programs whatsoever, but I shared accounts), I started cautiously with just letting other people play when they visited me (for getting avatars, mostly).

About one year later, I didn't give a f... anymore, I had all the passwords of a few friends of mine, some of them not even from the same country.

A friend out of another country logged in daily into my account and I into hers, for 1,5 - 2 years. Never ever a problem. I think it's really not necessary to stress about that.

(as others said; as long as you don't do anything stupid like AOBing 20 hours straight or something, that could of course be problematic)

If you AOB so little, I'd consider it less risky to use no proxy at all (but that's just my thought)

Ahaha, yes, can't argue with that! They don't really need an excuse to hit the button "freeze", right? It's just a gamble. Or we're lucky, or we 're not. :p

@Nentusia, the luck was on your side! xD

I alway thought that having more than one person(main account) with the same ip address raises suspicion. However we do completely different things.

And he does multiple cheats on neopets such as.. SS (his list makes him 50k), AoB (sometimes), Money Tree Grabber, Auto Pricing, Habitarium player (he accidently left this running for 15 hours!) I was actually surprised we weren't iced yet because of that O_o

I am expecting to get frozen any day now.

You should be fine as long as neither of you messes up. If you haven't been iced by now, you probably won't be unless some serious red flags start popping up.

I use a proxy pretty frequently because I live in Canada and want to watch American netflix. I turn it on and off all the time while playing neopets and i've never had any issues

Can you give me more details on this? Were you using the codex one?
