Hey guys,

 

Just a short update on something that the staff have been discussing of late. We thought since we now have a Private Leader role in @redlion, it would be nice to continue the 'structured organisation' approach by introducing a Retired Leader role. 

 

Now, you're probably going to say: "Why do we need a Retired Leader when hardly anything happens in Retired?"

 

Well, basically, it's for continuity's sake and to 'bridge the gap' (so to speak) between the regular Retired Members and Staff. We wanted someone that Retired members could contact with things they wanted to convey to staff/admins if they felt they could not do so themselves (although, why they wouldn't want to approach any of the staff personally is beyond me, aside from personal opinions of staff members?) and also someone who could help organise Retired Nominations (when they eventually do come around). Essentially, all that Patrick does as a Private Leader, the same will be the case for the Retired Leader role.

 

Retired Leader Responsibilities
- In charge of nomination threads. Will be expected to keep the peace in nomination threads and close the threads once the voting period is over. 
- Will be the first line of communication between staff and Retired members. If Retired members have any concerns, the Retired Leader will convey them to us and/or make sure they are brought up in a proper fashion. 
- Figurehead for Retired, obviously. Will be expected to represent Retired and its members, answer any questions asked and so on.

 

So, without further delay, I introduce to you, our new Retired Leader: @ Frizzle

 

Lee has been with the site since the beginning and has held many a staff role over the years (so he knows what he's doing/how things are run and so on) and we all feel was the best choice in this instance.

We all look forward to working along side him and hope that everyone approves.

 

If you do have any issues with this, please don't hesitate to contact me about anything (although I doubt there will be too much opposition).

Interesting reason to create the role.  I'd be more concerned about contacting Lee than a staff member.

 

Also, I'd like to lodge a complaint.  Lee is too good of a fit, I demand someone who is a poor fit gets shoehorned into that role.  That way people will bitch about someone getting promoted to a role with no real power, and we can complain about how the staff is clueless.  That'd be great.

I like to nitpick and generally have a cynical/realist/negative view.  And I have a reputation to uphold here.

 

If you insist I'll find more to complain about.  Like my lack of trophies.  This is bullshit, I did like, 3 x 100 post days in the past, and I used to have over 10k posts!
