Man, so tempting to get one of those Suaps for the avvie. But I know I'll get reported so fast -- especially from the auctions...

well clearly if you see a bunch of new rare items pop up on the market, they'll more than likely be duped. Sure the majority of these items will (hopefully) be iced or deleted, but some will slip through the cracks. I'd say after things have been secured, it should be up to each person to determine if they want to risk their Galaxy Bucks and/or account to buy such items.

Well I wasn't talking about the next few days or even weeks. If someone managed to not get frozen and played it smart, who knows what they'd be able to hold on to. I was more or less reiterating that going forward everyone needs to be extra careful as there will always be new people joining Codex, and some that may even be new to Neo in general that find themselves here. (Although it is unlikely a new user will stumble across this post a week from now, much less months or years down the road).

People have been frozen for duping, and have not publicize it on the boards (so I have heard).

Not a surprise.

TNT probably has a record of past trades, auctions, gifts, shop sales. But what about shop sales < 1k? Those do not appear in history, and as most junk sell for that doubt they record it

They suck at freezing... It has been like 3 days and i still have my acc with like 200 suaps, mspps, magical pea chia pops, gbombs and others :p

There is no way TNT will be able to control the spread of these nps or items. It's done, and unless they rollback, which they have made clear they are not, a lot of these items will fall through the cracks. Transfer them off onto legit accounts, 1 pea per account at a time, and I bet you will walk away with a few.

TNT doesn't have the man power to track them all down. And switch it between a few accounts if you want, and it will be even harder to tell where it came from.

They track high end items being sold in shops.

Then transfering with shop 1k 10-100k items?

How exactly does TNT track items? Can't they just do a search through their data for suaps and get a list? I have no idea how the programming side of this works and am looking for enlightenment :p

Not sure, but shouldn't be so hard. If every item had a created Date, they could easily remove all created this last month. So guess they don't store that or it works in another way xD. Without that, even if they easily have the list, there might be 30-100 of those that are legit, so they have to be careful...which takes time. Btw, someone should use an autobuyer and make a junk item like rainbow dung ub just for the fun :p

Couldn't they track item id? I don't understand why this is hard.

Napi, it's difficult because they are TNT. ;)

Item ID changes when an item changes hand.
To be fair, TNT has a LOOOOOT of work to do. Cut some slack :p

Excellent point, nitro...but it's so much fun to give them shit! There's so many broken things that had already accumulated over the years (that will likely never be fixed) that to see them introduce a whole slew of additional broken things is just too hilarious to pass up giving them additional shit.

Neopets couldn't handle Neo-Oprah.

I've been frozen on my third (and last) account :p I suspect it was down to some cavalier attitude from me (leaking inventory items, leaving username around on a few screenshots, spamming auctions and trading SuAPs) and not down to TNT actually tracking down duped items / users with high amounts of NP.

I'm almost certain that most of the universal item dupe glitches have been fixed.

If you have duped items on an account you wish to keep, I'd recommend laying low for at least a week or two. That means

  • No TP / auction bidding
  • Stay away from all neoboards
  • No asking for or offering lends
  • No money-treeing (:p)
  • Generally just don't be a tool

I wouldn't put it past them to actually be a member on Codex and trawling through this thread to find people to freeze

Doubt they'll actually track down ALL of the duped items unless someone outright hands it to them.

Item ID changes when an item changes hand.

Well, that makes sense, that's their history of how items changed hands. They probably reference it to the previous one
