Public nominations are different because they are not necessary. You can vote without nominating, so you don't need to have your opinion known. As far as having votes public, I also disagree with it. Voting is private in real life for a reason, it encourages fair voting and retains your privacy. People shouldn't have to vote knowing someone might get upset with them for voting for/against them. Private voting is essential to civil and impartial elections. Of course, this is neocodex, so maybe none of this matters here. Just my thoughts on the subject.
P.S. - Public voting is fine with me in contests where we don't know who we are voting for.

I'll still vote, but just because something has been done the same in the past doesn't mean it can't change. Also, I hardly think changing votes from public to private complicates anything haha. But like I said, I get it, this is just codex and it's just for fun. Just had a test in Political Behavior so voting is on the forefront of my mind at the moment.
