Home from school, I mean, back to my cabin from having my morning drinks, will answer all your questions shortly, and ask two of my own 

I want to ask Yam what she did all night and I want to ask Signor what the letter said.

Didn't everyone else get the letter? It said that some people were going to die on our trip, but as a lawyer, it was hardly ironclad. Although, maybe we should pay some attention to it now.

When I looked everyone was in their room or the banquet hall. I can't recall who was where, I think Even Hymh and Missile were in the banquet hall. There might have been one more. I might have been taking advantage of the ship's generous libations, I write better under the influence.

The wine was an '89 Marchesi Toscana. For starters, I thought it was odd that it was used for cooking. Second, I thought it was even more peculiar that there was a lone roast beef being prepared around 5am when I went it, maybe someone started preparing it around 2 when Missile was murdered?

Q: I'm wondering what you were doing the whole time locked up in the room. Wasn't it boring?

A: It’s never boring when you have something to do. When I get off this yacht, I will return to my clients children and make them catch up to the curriculum in my absence. A month of learning is no good. I slaved beside the candlelight reformulating the curriculum. Unfortunately for little Agatha, Beatrice and Collin, they will have to go through super supplementary lessons. On the Brightside, I planned for some fall goodies like pumpkin spice latte brewing and venison hunting. It was quite thrilling.

 

Q: What did you do all night? / What did you do while you were away from everyone, in your room, this night Missile died?

A. Redoing my curriculum for the children, but I admit that didn’t occupy the entire night. I was also writing in my daily observations book. Normally, I’d keep a record of the kids I’m teaching, but instead, I recorded my impressions of everyone on the ship. I met everyone except for Augury. He doesn’t talk to anyone. He must have trust issues from the lack of parental presence in his childhood. I don’t have much on him. One of the things I wrote that night: four people have dark gold eyes. Not hazel—dark gold.

A: No, dear Missile was not drunk upon our get-together. She invited me to drink with the rest of the passengers. Well you see, I am not a person who indulges in the spirits and libation in front of not even acquaintances. A fine cup of wine, yes, but in verbatim to Missile’s invitation: “get wrecked like no tomorrow.” To that, I politely declined.

A: She inquired about the weather and the invitation to the drinking party; however, she did throw a fit at the thought of the possible murders on the boat. Poor child.

A: HMPH. She reaches into her bag and hands you over 30 handwritten pages, front and back, of her itineraries for educational trips for her client’s children to psychoanalysis of each passenger. A: Apparently I’m in a Battle Royale with complete strangers until this ship lands. If I break any rules, my collar will explode. Morbid, huh? *He hands you the letter from his jacket pocket* Skip the beginning. The Captain fails to write with concision.

1. All passengers may not separate yourself from the boat for more than 20m, radially
2. Only one murder may occur per week, with each new week starting on a Sunday. Additional murders will result in the following killer's detonation.
3. The killer may not dump their victim's body into the water.
4. The corpse of the victim may only be dumped into the water when two or more passengers uninvolved witnessed the corpse.
5. If five or more passengers remain alive by the end of the voyage, everyone's collars will detonate.

 

Q: did you see anything that seemed suspicious thinking back to the monitor tracking everyone?

A: Yeah. There were two things that seemed odd. I just checked the monitor when that dumbass Carbo dropped the corpse into the water. He’s still alive. So he’s not the killer, if you’re wondering. Back to the monitor: Missile’s reading still said she was still in the kitchen even though her body is long gone in the water. And the second peculiarity is the cause of death reading. I didn’t notice until now, but it said Missile died from “Intracranial Hemorrhage”.

A: Sir, there was no wine in the kitchen. I said the beef cuts were prepared with red wine. Fortunate for you, I am a sommelier and am able to supply you with a proper appraisal. I apologize in sharing disappointing news but the wine is a plebian brand brewed in North Carolina, USA.

 

Q: Did you notice any signs that Missle (or anyone) had visited the kitchen before you when you observed the lack of sourdough bread and roast beef in a fine red wine?

A: Why yes, there was! When I was making my sandwich, I couldn’t find a chopping board to properly cleave the cheeses and meats. I looked everywhere and found it odd none exists on this luxurious boat. I made my sandwich on the bare counter like a barbarian. Oh yes, there were other oddities laying about the kitchen. There were empty coffee mugs in the sink, coffee maker still on, a bloodied trail running towards the porthole, but no bloodied weapon, a lot of faint yellow footprints walking out the room but not in, and the sink not fully closed. What hooligans leave faucets on all night? Quite the charlatan, milady.

A: Nuh-uh. I refuse to be anywhere near him. That man is bad news. I would like to stay away from him as much as possible. My gut told me so.

A: I wasn’t thinking of rope when I visited the closet before the murder. But if you think about it, if you’re on a ship, wouldn’t rope be a necessity?

MR ROOMY

Q: what were you doing the night before Missile was found?

A: Hey, you give me the vibe that I’m being suspected as the killer. On my godfather’s grave, may his soul find eternal rest, I swear that I didn’t kill Missile. If you don’t believe me, here’s the lowdown: On that day, I read the letter and got curious. I looked around the yacht, cause you know, if I’m going to be stuck here for a while, might as well know what’s around me. Nothing really stuck out as weird other than the boxes of lube and condoms in the supply closet, as if we didn’t have enough in our rooms already. When the sun was setting, I locked myself in my room. If anyone were to kill another it would be during the night when opportunity often strikes like a good deal from a friend.

 

Q: What was he doing all night?

A: I was in my room sleeping. Like any other person. Trust me.

A: He charges back to him room with a flustered, steamed face. Was it anger or embarrassment? Either way, I don’t think he’ll entertain anymore questions for today.

A: No doubt, bud. I was surprised too. When she invited everyone to drink, she was pumped for hard liquor and when I got there, she let me down. She said she had a headache and wouldn’t want to push it with booze. But she was waterfalling it. She had to ride the elevator down to the kitchen to make more coffee every 10 minutes.
