NeoCodex Advent Calendar 2014
Hi, my name is Keil "Pronounced-As-Kail-Not-Keel" Ressicks. How are you? Lovely.
In my blasphemous efforts to overthrow our past traditions, I am graciously honored to announce that the 2014 NeoCodex Advert Calendar will begin on the first day of December.
For those are new to this, we put the Neopet's Advent Calendar to shame with our own daily prize giveaway. Last year, people won anything from 100K pure Neopoints to a Sword of Reif to Paintbrushes to Custom-made Plushies to NC Items. Last year alone, we had a pool of 100m NP worth of awesome stuff for this event. *prerecorded audience applause* We'll follow a similar system as last year except with an addition of Flight Rising gifts.
Each day, one person is given a wonderful gift using a Random Number Generator (RNG) to determine the outcome.

Method of the Draw:
(WARNING: MATH. Includes Basic Logic, Arithmetic, and Beginner Statistics.)
Terminology:
n = number rolled on the die
GF = Game Factor: a randomly, non-scientific/mathematical derivation factor to multiply with depending on the game. Neopets is 100,000 NP. Flight Rising is 50,000 T. If person opted to both game options, a coin is flipped to determine if GF refers to Neopets or Flight Rising.
CP = Currency Product: Number on dice multiplied by GF resulting in amount of non-premium game currency.
RNG = Random Number Generator.
When entered, you'll be assigned a number.
I use an RNG to pick out the daily winner by number assignment.
I then use another RNG to roll four dice.
- Primary Roll: If n≥5, proceed to Tertiary Die. If, n≤4, multiply n by GF and proceed to the Secondary Die.
- Secondary Roll: If n=1 or 2, multiply n by GF and add to Primary Roll, END. If n=3 or 4, multiply n by GF, convert cumulative CP to item(s), END. If n=5 or 6, convert cumulative CP to item(s), proceed to Quaternary Roll.
- Tertiary Roll: Each n represents a Tiered prize level where n=1 is an item valued at least GF*3 to n=6 being the most expensive item donated for that game. Items/gifts not applicable to CP value are under n=4 and 5. END.
- Quaternary Roll: If n≤3, add bonus currency or items depending on n. END. If n≥4, do nothing, END.
Examples:
1.3.5.1.= ~400K NP in Neopets ITEM(S)/200K T in Flight Rising ITEM(S).
5.4.6.4.= JACKPOT ITEM
2.6.3.2 = ~200K NP in Neopets ITEM(S)/100K T in Flight Rising ITEM(S) and some bonus.
Sample Probabilities
1:18 Receiving 100K NP/50K T worth in item(s).
2:9 Receiving at least 200K NP/100K T currency
1:9 Receiving a combination of an item(s) and currency.

SUPER SECRET BONUS
On top of the calculations above, there is an "all or nothing" bonus applied to every gift. A special fifth dice is rolled. If n = 4 (because this is the 4th Advent Calendar in recent years), a super secret bonus gift is added. If n ≠ 4, then nothing happens. Mathematical formula below:
where Bonus value is rounded to the nearest thousands place, CP refers to the total amount accrued during the first four dice rolls and Σn refers to the sum of n's used to calculate CP, and random bonus is just using the RNG to decide for me using normally distributed data with z=0 as the total value of remaining prizes divided by the remaining days for each game and limiting the range with only a left tailed test with values limited to alpha = 0.05. It's easy to compute, especially the first part. I use Excel.
I made the formula in a way that the SUPER SECRET BONUS is independent of how much you earned beforehand. Thus, people with unfortunate rolls have a possibility of getting more.
There is no prerequisite to being
eligible to enter the Advent Calendar.
All you need to do is to PM me anytime before December 30th to enter. Please, also indicate if you only want prizes for one specific game (for example, ONLY Neopets). Failure to indicate preference assumes you are accepting of any prize. This PM will serve as our sole correspondence for this event. Do not create new PM's. Additional PM's will be ignored and deleted.
The Fine Print
- Once a person wins, they are removed from the RNG pool, regardless of what comes after.
- The winner will not be contacted if they win via PM, however they will be @ tagged in this forum. Please allow for @ tag notifications in your My Settings>Notification Options "Forum" Notifications. This setting is automatically set for everyone if not changed by the user. It is of your best interest to keep checking this thread in regards to the possibility of the notification failing. You can talk about Advent Calendar stuff and congratulate people.
- The winner must contact me within three (3) days within their winning announcement's time stamp using the same PM they used to enter this event. Additional PM's will be ignored and deleted. Failure to do so will result in the gift for that day returning to the prize pool without a new draw.
- The winner may willingly relinquish their prize. In this case, a new winner will be picked with a different roll. In other words, the second winner will receive a different gift.

STEP 2: Go to your entry PM you sent me and send me a username/tradelink/other applicable information to send your prize. Do NOT start a new pm, otherwise I will delete it.

Awards!
Although we accept any and all donations, we have awards for people who go above and beyond the call of duty. Both awards will be given out at the end of the event.
Advent Calendar Elf: Donates a minimum gift (in currency or items) valued at a least 100K Neopets NP or 50K Flight Rising Treasure.
Advent Calendar Santa: Donated at least 5 Million Neopoints of Value, 5 Million Treasure of Value, a combination of the two of at least 5 Million of value OR anything to the OTHER category. Only one prerequisite is needed.

Approximate value decided by NeoCodex ItemDB and general market trends with leeway. Special considerations will be given for both awards for donations that don't file under Neopoints or Treasure value (i.e. in the MISCELLANEOUS Benefactor High Score Table). NeoCash Items and any Accounts are automatically put into the OTHER High Score Table, but any Flight Rising Gems or Gem Items are still counted under Flight Rising.
