POPULAR POST!

Hey guys,

Just a heads up that we have decided to disable the anonym.to redirects for now due to an apparent Malware threat on their systems. Just be wary when clicking links from the forum that direct you to Neopets and any other game where you do not wish your referrer to show up from here. If you DO want to click links away from here to those sites, just remember to copy/paste into another tab instead.

We will reinstate it in the future IF they (anonym.to) manage to get it sorted, OR if we can find an alternative to this. I tried anonym2.com and that seems to just randomly redirect you to some holidays deals site, so that's a no go too.

Thanks for understanding and just remember to be wary when going to click forwarding links to Neopets, Flight Rising etc and so on.

Regards,

The Staff :)

Thanks for the heads up!

Would this work? Hide My Ass!'s anonymizer. There's an option to anonymize all links from your website at the bottom. It generates some JavaScript code.

Thank you for the update. I was surprised when I got told the site had an attack on it. I'll just copy and paste for now.

If anyone doesn't know yet, you can middle (scroll button) click to open new links in new tabs. I love it and it's faster than copying and pasting. You'd be surprised how many people aren't aware of this.

EDIT:

Nevermind about that. You could always get a browser addon/extension that does the anonymous referrer.

But it's the same as clicking it... It will still show that you went from here.

If you're on a laptop which only has a trackpad, and thus no scroll button:

Set it so clicking with two fingers creates a right click, and select "open in new tab"

If you're on a macbook. I don't know about windows laptops.

In future, if anyone notices things like that popping up when clicking links from here, please do report the post/content with the link and we will look into it for you :)

It's wasn't redirecting us to bad sites. It was just setting off our anti-virues saying the redirection page had malware on it.

We could make our own redirector even. Is it easy to write plugins for this forum software? @Pyro699

We could just purchase an IPB app and install it. Or if you wanted to write your own, its not that hard - just annoying.

Recycle the existing anonym script and just pass them through a https page (instead of sending them to the anonym website) which then redirects them to the intended link (a https page doesn't send referrer information to a http page I think). It really doesn't need an app for it.
