Ok cool, I'll set up a table for bets if others wish to place theirs. You don't HAVE to, but it adds a bit more edge to the game and incentive to win. Thanks for adding the prizes too guys! The OP will be updated later as well with those.

I may close sign ups a day earlier now because of this fact. It would be nice to try and come up with strategies with teammates before the actual contest. So with that, sign ups will close on the 26th now and the contest will take place on the 28th. Fair?

I've never played this game *shame on me* I didn't even know there was any fighting in it. I thought it was only about building things (and I've never been into games like that) Shows how little I know ^^' But it's fun to see you guys bantering about this and I'm super curious to see who's going to win!

 

As for Minecraft itself, maybe I SHOULD try it out some day seeing as it's not only about making stuff.

@LittleBambi Check out my blog "Mein Kraft" sometime. I've added an unofficial story element to it that makes it even more enjoyable when I play. Think there's going to be a TellTale Gaming RPG/Story element added to it sometime this year as well.

PvP is generally reserved for competitions like this, but there's plenty of beasties out to get you... if someone hasn't "forgotten" to turn off Peaceful Mode.

Just wish they'd switch it to Hardcore every once in awhile. 

 

For solo play, there's countless mods available that adds even more depth to the game. Challenge maps n such.

It's a lot of fun. Can't recommend it enough.

I've enjoyed the game so much I've purchased it four times thus far (Xbox 360, Android, PS3, PC) and a fifth whenever I get a PS4. "Never" getting an Xbone.

Awesome. Didn't know if it'd be consider "fair" or ruin any of the fun if we had too much notice to plan.

Suppose it'd potentially make it that much more challenging.

@AoKnight here are the rules. Also, I believe the "quadrants" are 4 chunks (4x16? I think).


The Rules (Player)
*Wait for host to give you a "cell" before the game starts. This is your starting position.
*Once the cell pushes you up, you are free to go and prepare yourself before the walls come down.
*DO NOT break any sand blocks.
*DO NOT leave your zone delimited by bedrock.
*DO NOT build over the sand walls height.
*You can create alliances, however only one player/team can win. Treasons are encouraged.
*Use your skills, intelligence and creativity to kill other players.

The Rules (Host)
*Place the players in their cells or "tubes" on the corners of the map.
*To start the game, press start when everyone is ready. You cannot reset! So make sure everyone is ready.
*Make sure to have a player assigned to the Zone close to the clock with 2 wires.
*Make sure your server has view Distance set to 15.
*Make sure you have monsters OFF.
*If you want to play with the players, you have about 15 seconds to reach your cell and put back your gamemode 0.
*If you want the game to do on longer, you can give each players a bed and the goal would be to destroy your enemies's beds.

Yeah you would really be amazed by everything that can be done with Minecraft...it's incredibly versatile, and really is only limited by the imagination!

Things have changed a bit and I'll be flying pretty much all day Friday into a very different time zone. I "should" be around for the match but if I haven't started adjusting to time I can't guarantee I won't be passed out asleep.
