I was reading the Tumblr blog that was essentially legit players stalking UC or VWN'd pets and reporting any "suspicious" activity regarding them. There were absolutely loads of accusations and they got me thinking. I don't have any UC pets, but one is limited edition + painted + WN'D (has no numbers or underscores, is a real-world name.) I'm mostly worried that people will look at my account eventually and say that my pet HAS to be stolen/hacked due to the name, even if it is uncommon.

Another unpainted pet has a canon name in reference to a book series. Another has a variation on a real-world name. All of the pets are older, with the exception of the last one. Is there any way I can prove that the pets are mine AND legitimate if something comes up? Obviously I can write a ticket and TNT will know that the pets haven't transferred anywhere, but that doesn't convince other users. All of my pets are customized and taken care of. Additionally, my only pet that isn't WN'd is training as a BD pet. It's also the oldest.

In the future I'm looking toward purchasing a UC pet (mid to high-tier) and would like to know that no one was scammed/taken advantage of in the process of obtaining it for myself. I may be a cheater when it comes to getting money, but in the event that I go after a UC I would rather not be involved in harming other players.

I think only user lookup caches are gone, not pet ones.

Yup. You're right.

When you buy your UC pet, my suggestion would be try to avoid the PC board for a while.  The problem with most people is that they're too impatient and desperate to trade their purchased UC away and it'll attract too much attention.

Most people don't give a shit about your pets until you post around the PC.
