If you're talking about the Faerie quests, yes. What they ask for is most of the time (I'd say around ~95% of the times) cheaper than the training.

If you mean the other type of quests, well... If you're looking for avatars/trophies, it all depends on how much NP you have and are willing to spend. It's all very subjective and goals dependent.
