Speaking of which, the captchas will be on, what, user lookups? I see that, maybe, once per month if I'm feeling especially Neopian. XD

Yaaa, it was meant to deter account scanner programs it seems. Along with, those who used them to target exploits on lookup pages in order to hack accounts, something like that? So yes, it wasnt because of the regular player or even the regular cheater.

I'm happy to say that autobuying still works hehehe. You'll need to adjust your buy time delay settings though! For those who don't have Advanced and thus can't do that on Abrosia, there are some great alternatives here in our User Submitted Programs as well: http://www.neocodex....itted-programs/

The irritating part is the one which asks you to select which pictures are pickup trucks (for example) hahaha.

I'm glad I don't have to view many lookups with the way I currently play. Would really get old fast indeed.

My lookup is all messed up so I'm trying to fix it, then I need to recaptcha every other minute. I'm this close to flip!

What do you mean? I assume you were thinking of selling the accounts? Or were you just going to self freeze them? If you're going to sell an account anyway, may as well increase the price for the NC.

 

I mean that I don't need the money. I never had that "must sell neopets stuff because monies" appeal.

And, even if I needed the money, I most likely wouldn't be able to sell the NC I have - most of them retired stuff I actually like (and I'm a damned hoarder).

The problem is I don't have enough gift boxes to send all items to my mains, so all this awesome NC is in a handful of empty shells waiting... painfully.

The method they describe is the first one that popped in my head when I was thinking about this. I don't think I'd have figured out the hostname spoofing they mentioned though, that was quite clever.

 

Our programmers here are smart, they'd be able to get by it easily.

 

This one would be much harder than any of their previous ones (purely image captchas tend to be simpler). I'd prefer if they just keep it to user profiles and anywhere else they currently have it rather than in areas we use for our programs like shops or games etc. The main reason I can't see them adding it for main shops right now is because it would mean them sending data to Google and handling the response every time somebody attempted a captcha and, given their servers can't handle a bit of lookup scraping, that might not go too well.
