I vaguely remember from dating a navy guy a million years ago that people who needed daily meds weren't allowed in the military. Does that mean that there are no trans people on hormone replacement therapy currently in the military? Or has the daily meds thing changed since then? (at least a decade ago bc i'm old)

As far as I know, that has changed because there are trans people on hrt in the military currently but it's worth noting that prior to Obama they couldn't openly be trans. So, those already enlisted prior to Obama's decision to allow trans people to serve, could come out and probably get on hrt. I don't know anything about a daily med rule. Baldman is on daily meds and the military is fully aware. He is active duty, deployable and has no duty restrictions.

And as usual, when he isn't getting what he wants, he's doubling down, trying his best to cast aspersions on the whole process, preparing all the legal challenges he can (even when there's no basis whatsoever), and overall refusing to concede no matter what, despite Biden's huge and basically insurmountable lead at this point.

 

Meanwhile foreign leaders are already congratulating Biden and Harris, even the ones who were Trump allies (Boris?), even the ones who were like cautiously waiting for a while just in case.

Even Brazil's president, Jair Bolsanaro, turned his back on Trump. Bolsanaro basically worshiped the guy.

Trump has lost, the results will not be overturned, there was little to no corruption. I can't wait for him to become a distant memory.

As a non-American I've never paid as much attention to an American election as I did this year, but I think it's important globally that we see that lying/cheating will only get you ahead for so long and at the end of the day integrity is what's important.

 

At least, I hope that's the lesson from all of this.

The Secret Service has their own COVID outbreak right now. More than 130 either have got it or have to quarantine due to close contact with those who do.

Have got to feel for them. An ex- Secret Service officer was interviewed asking if they could refuse a request if it would put them highly at risk, and basically it's completely out of the question, since their very job involves the need to risk their lives for their charges. The best they can do is to like, take precautions, put on PPE etc but as we can see it's not nearly enough as you would guess.
