You pick a certain set and a full map prices fluctuate sometimes. Check the TP or Neoboards theres a guarantee you'll find some there.

They give you prizes. Petpet Lab Map allows you to zap your petpet like you do to your normal pet but they are only changed while they're equipped.

I have had a lot of luck with the lab ray in the last few weeks, my pets have changed colors 4 times, fire..then to stripped...and my other pets changed to brown and starry. Not the best colors but better then nothing concidering my6 year account was frozen and now the new account is only 2 months old

nope its random and they dont always change color... and full lab map (9 pieces) about 550k- 650k all depends

lol im so unlucky i i dont think i have any lab ray pieces and only 3 petpet ray pieces and no other maps omg im so unlucky i only have 50k in bank and need lots of help
