is buying a lab map worth it? I've got the cash i just dunno if I wanna risk losing the pet that i've already painted etc.

Probably isn't worth it, if you have a pet you really like and you've spent money to get it that way. I mean, it might take you a year to "zap" a certain pet into something you like.
So it really is, up to you...
