Deadmau5 always used to be so anti-mainstream and now he's become what he hated. I think his music has suffered because of it. =/

I've noticed this as well.
Back in 2008 I would ask friends if they've ever heard of mau5 and they had no clue what I was talking about.
Now if I asked a complete stranger if they know him and they'll be like 'he's my favorite'.
His music has changed a lot, hence why I don't listen to him much anymore.
After making ghost n stuff he shouldn't have went on to make a 'moar ghost n stuff'.
That track was trash, filled with incompetent syths that a 3rd grader could have come up with.
I'm trying not to hate, but I had a connection with Deadmau5 since his first album.
Skrillex is going in the same direction, but you can't really complain with his mixes; epic.
Any how, I don't hate on them for becoming mainstream because what that means is they're just becoming successful and they truly deserve that.

Ya, it's just ironic how Deadmau5 always used to rag so much on the mainstream Electro artists for using such mindless, unimaginative, repetitive tracks and now here he is... Oh well. The cost of doing business, I guess. I'm not a huge Deadmau5 fan (but go Canada!), but when listening to his stuff, it used to have a unique sound of sorts, but the tracks always left me wanting more. He seemed to be setting the song up for a hook or something that never ended up coming.

Did you pull that from your ass, or someone else's? Skrillex continues to shit on amazing downtempo ambient dub, while doing nothing but tweaking a low oscillator knob to drop into his drop so he can drop the drop while he drops. Deadmau5 never breaks away from a 4/4 beat... Jesus fucking fuck... Rage. I personally thank the automatons buying into this garbage for destroying any hope of a decent American electro scene.
