this is what degauss is for! it's on monitors, but not tvs for some reason.
rather than wait a few years for it to fix itself, use a degaussing coil. you can either buy one somewhere, or build your own.

try it I guess, or find a professional service to do it for you. either way, don't let the kid have magnets again!

no man magnets are cool...try stickin one on a compass,it'll start dancing
also if theres a guy u dont like and he has a digital watch,put a magnet on it and I heard it'll completly kill it

Or you could just smush it .First thing I'd do with a magnet.
Put a magnet on the floor. A disabled ant on it. Inch the second magnet closer to it from the top.

My mom's friend told me that one time at his job, they were giving out a nice flat 19" monitor, and he had won it. A jealous co-worker decided that if she wasn't going to get it, no one would. So she got a magnet and screwed up his brand new monitor. Sucks.
