For the past six months, the site has been under closed registrations and only those lucky enough to receive invitations or administrator validation made their way in. After a few months of deliberation, we have decided on a fixed date to completely open the doors of Neocodex to the public.
The date we have decided on is June 23rd, which is ten days from now.
What does this mean for the site?
In the past, open registrations was the normal and in the past have only closed the site to the public so more time can be freed up to perform maintenance and fix various things up. Most of the objectives set in December have been met to this date, and the remainder of the objectives will be met in the next few weeks.
Through the [email protected] e-mail address, we have received to date roughly 100 or so e-mails of people requesting to be on our notification list (to be notified when we have agreed on a date). They will be receiving an e-mail shortly which will contain roughly the same contents as this post (information about open registrations).
As for the duration of open registrations: Remember, we're really meant to be open to the public and provide a service to them, so closing them was a temporary thing. Until we have to close up again, the place will be staying open (we'll pretty much evaluate how things go after we open up ).
On June 23rd, however, the real test will be welcoming the new members into the community properly. The staff expect all of you to respect the newcomers (we're not overly worried, just don't let us down) and help them out if they have any questions. Set a good example. If some of you remember July 4th of last year, we had a colossal amount of people join up when we opened up and I think they were welcomed quite nicely into the community.
So, that pretty much covers it. I'll give you guys an exact time of opening soon when I know but I'm pretty sure it will be around 5:00 PST (1:00 AM GMT on the 24th)... the evening on the west coast anyways.
