Ok guys, I just invented this awsemo-coolio-energy blob.
Check out the tut:

1) Create a new doc, I will be using 500x500

2) Fill the background with black

3) Filter->Texture->Grain(Intensity 100, Contrast 100, Type Vertical)

4) Press CTRL+F 3 ti'mes

5) Press CTRL+C then CTRL+V

6) Edit->Transform->Rotate 90CW

7) Set the new layer's fill to 50%

8) Layers->Flatten I'mage

9) Filter->Stylize->Find Edges

10) Filter->Artistic->Neon Glow (Size 2, Brightness 13) Pick a greenish color

11) Filter->Stylize->Glowing Edges(Width 1, Brightness 8, Smoothness 10)

12) Press CTRL+F

And your done! :) Awsome eh?  :p
You should change some of the settings if you dont want it to be exactly the same :)

The piccy didn't work for me... so I followed the tutorial without it. I don't know if I've produced quite the effect you intended or not, but I like it anyway.  :(   Here, have a look:

Sounds good to me.  :(

I like gfx tutorials. I made a fur tutorial if anyone's interested. I love doing fur in Photoshop. :p In fact, I've got quite a few techniques for Photoshop.. but they're not all exactly filter based and many of them turn out better with a gfx tablet...

*Cough*she*cough*

I didn't notice the CS bit, I've got Photoshop 7, not 8... :p I'll try again later, probably. It could just be that I'm really :D ***: at following instructions of course, I tend to make things up as I go along.  :p
