[SPOILERS]
why did Tyler die when the narrator didn't? If they were the same person, shouldn't both of them or neither of them died? o_0

I thought it was a good movie. It's even better now that I know what was really going on. The only thing I don't understand is

It wasn't so much him killing Tyler as his action proving to himself that Tyler wasn't an independent entity, and thus he was able to get rid of him.

Yep. Its the same as telling yourself your imaginary friend doesn't exist. Except his imaginary friend was an alter ego side of himself.

I really really...really enjoyed the movie. Brad and Edward were superrrb. So was Marla Singer's actress. Can't recall her name..Unfortunately, my old calc prof. killed it for me. "What's the first rule of Calculus AP?" "Don't talk about Calculus AP!" And so on and so forth. Other than that, loveeee it. Heard the book is a worthy read as well.
I hate math jokes -_-
What did he do for the other rules?

I wont watch it again for a while, its over 2 hours -_-
And there wasnt anything particularly interesting in that 2 hours.
So can someone explain to me what makes this movie so great?
SPOILER
I understand how Tyler came out while the guy slept, and how he was a separate personality.
What I didnt get was what was Tyler's goal?
