I need to order a reading book, and I looked through amazon but didn't really find anything that looked worth reading. I thought about Fight Club but because I've seen the movie I think the suspense would be gone.
Can someone recommend me a good, thought provoking and original book?
Not something like Harry Potter ><

If you haven't seen the movie, read The Da Vinci Code. Really good book.

Depends on what you're into

I just finished "A Brief History in Time" which is thought provoking.

Also check out "The Truth Machine"

The Testament (By John Grisham)- Its one of my favorites xD
I also would suggest The Partner, The Client, The Brethren, or anything else by John Grisham.

His Dark Materials series:
The Northern Lights
The Subtle Knife
The Amber Spyglass

It's a fantasy story, and you can read it like that, or, you can read it as it was intended; a truly amazing insight into religion, and the concept of original sin.

Da Vinci is just something everyone reads, like Harry Potter tongue.gif
Read some Pulitzer Prize books, books that actually have won awards based on their intellectual prowess. I've read Empire Falls(or half of it tongue.gif) and its a pretty good book.

Hell yah! My favourite trilogy ever. happy.gif
What's going on about the Book of Dust? I thought Pullman was going to write another companion type thing.

The Three Theban Plays
I had to read it for my summer reading and I found it quite interesting. We're actually going to be something interesting in class- relating the Three Theban Plays with the movie Minority Report.

Very interesting book I must say. And thought-provoking at the least.

I love reading mystery books, so I'd reccommend some of Agatha Christie's books, such as: Murder on the Orient Express

Not sure what you like, but mysteries are always a good catergory. smile.gif
(in my opinion of course)

So I guess 1984 is out. sad.gif

Freakonomics! It's not really a novel, just a book about economics. But it has really cool ideas in it.
