I had an idea,
What if I had a shitload of people from my school make a myspace blog where we post the answers to one or two sheets of our homework,
And have a different thread for different teachers...

What do you think?

Honestly, what does modern day middle school teach anybody.
They've been teaching us the same crap for YEARS.

And I happen to think I'm smart... er than most people my age.

Yeah, gotta agree with Alias. Maybe a homework help blog or whatever, where those who are good at maths can help those weak at it, and similarly for other subjects.

Just one problem, people who like to help people with math aren't on myspace blink.gif
They're too busy doing homework.

Um... Have you thought about the teachers finding out?
And who would be the ones to do the homework?
You pick on somebody till they give it up to you?

Short-term benefits are great. You'll regret doing it when you're older, though.

At school I'm in a "digital class" which means everyone has their own laptop and most of the assignments, tests, classes happen through the internet.

We just simply have everyone on MSN and ask each other for homework. Most of the time we simply trade finished works and edit it slightly so the teacher won't detect plagiarism (they have a program which searches through google and other peoples assignments and estimate a copied %).

So remember: Copy -> Read -> Edit -> Submit.

Its true. Teachers could find out. We actually had a librarian from our school on myspace and she would always rat people out. Like about drugs, etc.

in all of my classes, only a few people in each part of the classroom actually do the work, the rest copy and the teachers practically allow it

man i don't get you kind of people, you obviously don't care enough about school to do like an hour of homework..so why even worry about it anyways? the work you seem to be talking about seems to be specific to one answer.. how hard would that be anyways? if you do the homework by copying and never doing it yourself, your teacher will probably be surprised when you flunk the test, yet have been answering the homework correctly wink.gif. i don't really do homework, only would ever copy to get something i didn't know, not really something i was too lazy to do. (pfft wtf am i talking about, i don't do homework tongue.gif).

not to mention if the school ever found out they would without a doubt take action against it, probably would get expelled/suspended for it.

bad idea.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Just get together a few friends and exchange homework once in a while. Easier to do, harder to get caught.

If thats the case you might as well dont do it at all. You wont learn anything from it. Example maths, even if you said you copy how many questions and understand the workings out of it, tests come and you'll flunk it, trust me. Some subjects out there is just about practising. You might think that homework is a piece of shit now, but think why did the teacher give it to you guys in the first place. He wont have it easy, since you do a piece of it, he had to mark a WHOLE class of it. He wont have any losses if you dont do, just benefited since he'll have a less piece to mark. He wont get sacked even if you flunk your test.

I got the same thinking as you when i was in high school, but trust me, its not a good idea at all. As freak has said, just get a couple of friends, stay back in school or go to some restaurants, eat and complete your work together. This way, if you dont know a thing or two, your friends can teach you on the spot.

When you get in college, your mindset would totally change and homework will eventually become everything you ought to do. Miss one, the teacher would not come after you, you'll only fail your next test regarding that topic. Or if you're smart as you've said, do badly and just barely pass for it. 1we8.gif

As a High School senior, I have to say what you learn in Middle School is 80% pointless. The only class you should try hard at is math. Everything else you're re-learn multiple times in High School.
Some teacher told me the main point of middle school is to develop habits and get yourself in the right mindset. If you keep slacking off in MS, chances are youll slack off in HS, not easy to change.

I have 6 AP Classes this Semester, and I average about 10 minutes of homework a week... (minus 1 BIG project I've had) It's funny though, because I manage to get an above 4.0 GPA.

But like Alex said, the only thing I had to keep in memory from middle school was how to factor quadratic equations, everything else I pretty much learned Pre 7th grade.

Middle School is pointless, it basically is a holding cell for you to develop a level of "maturity" you need for high school. Although for most, it fails drastically.

Hmm keep hearing from you guys on GPA.. Can you explain to me how its counted? Like an above 70 = 3.0 GPA etc? 1we8.gif
