And Im more of a sorry person. I say sorry a lot I guess.
Plus Ill also steal one of jillians reasons for not being a thank you person. I get ultra embarassed when a stranger guy would open a door for me or pick up something I dropped or something. It happens all the time, I just get all awhed, smile and run away.

I guess "thanks" is just a Southern thing now, hmm? Maybe it is something in the grits...

^ Good chance for me to ask why. Honestly, that's a piss off. There's this girl that I don't know really well, that I would like to know, but she is damn shy. Its a shame. Like, she walked in front of me once when I was leaving class, but I just stop and say hey, how's it going... She gets flustered and says sorry. I just walked off after that... Idk what else I could have done... o.o
And Urban, Idk what happened to you, but your different. You like brood now, it's weird.

Same, and the people I see everyday are almost all polite and say their thank you's.

Mmhm. In Chicago it just depends on where you are.
I always say thank you and most of the time when I do something nice for someone, they will say thank you.

Lawl, I dont know why I do it. Im not shy unless a boy does something gentlemen-y like to me. Then I get all different because even though it happens daily Iunno, I think its nice. They usually find it cute from what they say afterwards so w/e, I never attempted to change myself there. I either smile to show a thank you or just say a quick thank you and run away. o.o
And okay? You should keep trying to talk to her, I like persistant boys when they know Im embarassed.

and here in japan, it's not a thankyou you hear all the time, but it's an apology. you'll hear "Sumimasen!!" like a billion times a day... everyone here is extremely polite, and the culture is very considerate of the other's feelings.

I know Chinese is different from Japanese, but when I go to the Chinese restaurant here, they ALWAYS say "I'm sorry" or "Sorry" when they come by to pick up dirty plates. I guess they're trying to excuse themselves in case they reach over us or something...

yes, in japanese, saying sorry is a lot like saying "OMG! I'm so sorry that I'm inconveniencing you!"

"OMG Sorry I helped you out!"
Sounds fun.

lol, mainly it's to consider the other's feelings, apologizing for bothering them and such. sort of like I'm sorry for existing around you. XD
