Cody in response to your reply about my information. These were all direct friends of mine, that I skated and regularly hanged out with. For the one that died, I do not know much information about his death, but he had no other past history and at such a young age I couldn't fathom anything else that would've done it. I didn't know his parents that well, so I never got a call. It was announced at my school, and that was the end of it. The only resource that could give me any information on his death was the one that went off to boarding school, and he wasnt positive it was a stroke. He may have simply O.D.ed I dont know. The fact is, I have lost a lot of my friends from drug use, and I don't really consider cannabis a harmful drug, but I do consider it to be a gateway drug now. When I first saw all the govt. b/s I quickly could see the scare tactics, and I didn't believe that much of the information given to us. However, over 7 of my friends have gone from Marajuana to Cocaine and some to Heroin, PCP, and LSD. I've had a really bad experience so far, in a really short time, and all of these people were great people, and really, really intelligent. My one friend, who I still skate with, tells me that he has trouble remembering stuff now, he's been clean for over 2 months now, and I can really tell a difference in him. I probably have had these epxeriences because many drugs, especially Cannabis and Cocaine are extremely accessible here, I live right next to the border, and it's just a hop across the fence really. It's also extremely cheap. On the other hand, I have had no friend that has had trouble quitting smoking Cannabis, but most if not all of them picked up cigarette smoking in the time where they smoked Cannabis. I doubt it is any trend, but probably just pressure from the dealer or other people. I might add that all of these people had rough beginnings in the world. The one that died, moms died just a few months previous. Another was orphened, and another had drug problems within his immediate family already. So they were more susceptible. Thanks for your information though, but I don't lie about things like this, and they didnt immediately just start doing cocaine and heroin, the jump was more gradual, sorry for making it sound abrupt. Heroin and Cocaine are really accesible here though, like I said, so I know it contributed to them trying it.
