I can explain air masses, they're easy. smile.gif

Polar Maritime (PM)

Summer - Cool, some rain, good visibility
Winter - Cool, rain/some snow, can be frosty/foggy, good visibility

Comes in from the Arctic Ocean.

Winter - Cold, especially so on the East coast (remember the direction), can bring rain to the East coast, can be poor visibility

Comes in from Russia/Scandinavia over Europe

Tropical Continental (TC)

Summer - Hot and dry, clear skies, sometimes summer storms, sometimes dusty, can bring heatwaves, good visibility
Winter - Just doesn't happen in winter...

Comes in from North Africa over Southern Europe

Winter - Warm, cloudy, humid, rainy, poor visibility

... I'm paying $37K a year. 1we8.gif

edit: well I'm not actually paying it, I'm getting a $17k/year scholarship, $7k financial aid for being poor, $3k for loans, and they're having me work for $2k a year, but... still!

ouch 1we8.gif

i'm trying to get into an academy/boarding school for my last two years of high school. It's super-selective, but by the end of the two years I'll have my high school diploma and an associates degree in science. They pay for your full tution(about $8k), and half you room and board. So it'll only cost me $3-4k a year.

As for choosing subjects, I'm thinking about majoring in Biology, but I'm undecided right now. Doing Graphic Design would be amazing...but it's not gonna happen.

*Isn't paying a penny for her university education*

Although I think ours is now £3070 in tuition, plus accomodation and living expenses. *Shrugs*
And I'm fairly sure Scotland only have lower rates for Scots. English people have to pay more to go to uni there, or at least they definitely used to. Might have changed since all the fees changed. *shrugs*

Yeah that's what I was saying before. Scots only have to pay 2.2k for their entire degree and non-Scots have to pay 1.7k a year for it.

Oh, and yeah, on Calum's comment about philosophy... what do you mean, people don't consider philosophy a real course? The implications of that statement confuse me. I've never heard of a college that didn't offer philosophy courses, and it's a very useful undertaking to become a lawyer, an ethicist, a writer, or any kind of professor. It's a totally badass major, really. I'm taking Philosophy of Science right now, and I hope to take Philosophy of Language and Cognition next sem biggrin.gif

Äli - I actually know a kid who's double-majoring in Studio Art and Biology. I haven't talked to him a lot but based on that major choice, I've dubbed him the coolest person ever. You, too, could be the coolest person ever, if you don't discard Graphic Design wink.gif Jobs love a nice healthy mixture of interests and talents and the idea of mixing a science with an art would interest a lot of research companies, I'm sure. It could also get you a really sweet deal with video games or computer animation if you focus on anatomy and physiology in Bio and wanted to go that route. The thing my school encourages above all is to take what YOU love to start out, then follow through with it, because everything fits together somehow. Bio and design are a lot more related and useful than even I'd' think... oh god I'm starting to convince myself to do art... *has a quarter-life crisis*

Scotts are jerks. tongue.gif I suppose i could've gotten a full ride at quite a few places... nowhere I actually applied, just places that stalked me for a while there last year, as schools are wont to do
