Hello everyone,

Since Neocodex will be opening its registrations this Saturday, March 3, 2007, we really want to start advertising that we are opening soon. We want members to join our forums but there is no way that we will be able to get those members if they don't even know that we are open. The administration has indeed seen a raise in the amount of guests that are lurking on our board these days but we believe that we can do better. This is why we are making a humble request that you begin spreading the word wherever you can that Neocodex is opening its doors. Please help us in our goal to become the top online community for neopets and other games online! Telling others is easy. Just drop it into conversations that you are already having or place it into your MSN name or something. I'm sure you guys are creative enough to think of some good ideas on how to go about this smile.gif.

A really quick feature that I wanted to highlight though is a new ability that Neocodex administration has added to Neocodex in the recent board upgrade. You can now add Neocodex topics to two popular social bookmarking websites Digg.com and Del.icio.us. The mod fills out all the details for you so long as you are logged into these websites and all you have to do is click submit. So if you see some good topics online, go right ahead and submit them to digg or delicious! It will sure bring us more visitors and registrants as well smile.gif. Note that guests can only see the announcements, lounge, gaming and some programming areas.

Here is a quick image tutorial on where this all is located:

If you have any ideas on what more we can do to advertise, please PM one of the admins. We are really looking for some good ideas smile.gif. I think we can do much better than what we have already and we need members' suggestions along with our own to succeed so please don't hesitate in sending them in smile.gif.

If anything is not working correctly for you, please let us know and we will take care of it right away.

Thanks and again, please spread the word that we are opening registrations!

Sweet mod. Digg is gay though, all their Sony bashing.... They should shut the fuck up if they aren't even going to get the console. Its one hell of a machine.

Eh. I will do my best to advertise but I honestly do not know anyone to tell.... and I don't chat with people online much unless I personally know them. Hm. Advertise on my MySpace? HAH!

The only bash because the playstation 3 sucks.

Good addons. To be honest though, I am very doubtful that neocodex can handle the digg effect.

Here's an idea- Have the contest team throw a competition for recruiting members with a prize. (Only trouble would be implementing a method to accurately count this, since its open regs now) It's not very original, but hey it gets the job done. In the end, we'll have recruited some members that may decide to stick to our community smile1.gif

The contest team are not the staff's lackeys. We are an autonomous, self-sufficient entity.
Yuhuh.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that all. I meant to suggest to the contest team if they'd be interested tongue.gif It's not like this is for the admins' personal gain or anything though so I don't see why the team would be against such a thing unless for financial issues (which I could actually help out with *whistle*)

I think my respect for you has just gone even higher tongue.gif
The Wii is the most fun, especially for party games, 360 is the best for hardcore online gamers.

This is a really good suggestion and others should do it I think smile.gif. We're finding a way to track who you refer and then reward you based on that wink.gif tongue.gif.

Just have a thing when people register - a box where you can enter the name of the person who got you to come there.
Is that possible?

99% people will too lazy to put it or do not want to do it. xD

Thanks, perhaps to track who is referred you could do something like Neopets does. For example: www.neocodex.us/refer.php?user=Black%20Stallion

Oh yes! I waited for something like this way before, in an application of mine to the advertising team(w/c I don't think I passed).
Can we handle the digg effect?
But if we get digged, don't you think we'll attract a lot of bashers? Like that Flat Earth Society? happy.gif

Hah, a funny idea I have seen alot of people do with their website is, when you see a truck that has dirt on the back, write the website in the dirt, so when the truck drives down motorways people see it. One of my friends did it with their myspace url on every truck he saw, and his hits went up a fair bit tongue.gif

The digg is an interesting idea smile.gif

The Wii is okay. The novelty starts to wear off after a bit, at least it did for me. I played it for over an hour at a friends house... I pwnd those people in Wii tennis.

The 360- best for hardcore online gamers?!?!? I play that all the time with friends- It crashes right and left, his friends have the same problem. My PS3 has never crashed, never had a disk read error, and overall, its just better.
