I am extremely amazed and pleased at the same time to see that Neocodex has grown so much. Since opening registrations, Neocodex has aquired over 1000 members. This all took place in less than 1 month and is an amazing feat. It is remarkable and groundbreaking within all Neopets communities online. Here are some statistics you can all feast your eyes on (the raw data image can be found at the bottom of the post tongue.gif.

On average, since opening registrations, Neocodex has received 51.7 members per day. With this number, we can find how many members we can expect per month. This number comes out to be around 1,551 members joining the board per month based on these statistics. With this, we can see how fast the board is growing by calculating how much time it will take to double our user base from today. That number comes out to be three and a half months. It is amazing to think that in three and a half months, Neocodex will be sitting online with more than ten thousand registered members having doubled our user base.

Here is the raw data tongue.gif

It really amazes me to see how much Neocodex has grown. The fact that Neocodex is still growing and becoming even greater and more sophisticated amazes me more. Hopefully this trend can continue and we can continue providing great services, resources and a great community to our users.

Great job everyone and keep up the great work! Your hard work has allowed us to come so far so don't ever think that the little help you give here or there is insignificant. It really isn't as it just allows us to keep up our reputation of having a great community with some great people on our site!

To give all the new members time to get integrated into the community and so we can let the anticipation build up for the next time we open registrations rather than letting thousands of them in now and running out of new members for the next time we open. tongue.gif

And also because they're pissing me off with their continued stupid questions and posting in the wrong places... <- mostly for this reason. tongue.gif

Why does it seem that people are always so eager to close registrations? crybaby.gif Aren't new members the lifeblood of a forum?

Look on the bright side. Most of them are leechers who you'll never see again smile.gif tongue.gif

Personally i'd put all new members on mod preview automatically and not give them access to programs until they have 10 non-spam posts. biggrin.gif

That'll give the mods something to do. tongue.gif

Yeah true. But there's still that large amount of people who we never see again. Some of the leechers on the members list haven't logged on in two and a half years blink.gif

But that's good most of them come back to see how cool codex is, not just it's programs

I am not eager, if the rest of the board can remember, I was one of the few people who thought closing them down was a bad idea in the first place. Members are what makes the board, if we don't keep open registrations then the board starts to die, and the talk of "how things have change" starts to happen.

Allthough I do have to say I get annoyned when I see spam, it really isn't as bad as many other boards that I have been to ( not neopets community boards).

I hope that codex can permenantly stay open, and if need be close down only for days at times, not months.

----- onto the news -----

Its great to see codex grow. More members equal more topics which means its easy for members to get involved with the community.

Well some of them do tongue.gif. I think it takes a while for members to get active. There are so many stories of people who are inactive for a first few months and then become active later smile.gif.

If you guys go through various introduction threads, you will see that a lot of quality members today once said something like "i joined a while ago but never really posted".

That's their future.
